Lolz AEW moved Punk vs Moxley to next week on Dynamite?

Reeks of desperation....either Punk really is quiting and they want the title off him asap or they're getting nervous that Punk and Omega returning didnt improve their ratings this week.

How the fuck do you move a title unification match to regular cable when you have your top PPV in a few weeks...especially when one of the wrestlers in said match is nursing an injury that extra time could help him with?

Something is up....

If this isn't somehow setting up an MJF return, yeah, this reeks of desperation and hot-shoting 101 to try and pop a rating

So Punk got butt hurt about this promo. Why not say something to Hangman right then and there? Why are you taking about Hangman now? I'll be honest with you I was never a big CM Punk fan in the first place because I find him overrated in the ring. Yeah, Hangman may not be the best promo but he delivers in the ring.

Punk has the right to be arrogant, if he in fact has been. His debut is still the biggest rating AEW has ever pulled.
He still brings in the casual wrestling fans who don't even care for AEW that much.
What has Hangman done to move the needle?
As I've said a million times, being a great wrestler isn't just about doing a bunch of cool moves.
You have to have the total package. Promo, personality/persona, confidence in and out of the ring, etc.
Punk carries himself like a champion. When Hangman had the title, he came off like a guy pretending to be a champion. Big difference.

And that was based off of a 7 year nostalgia driven anticipation of him coming back. He came back and the nostalgia wore off. The ratings went back down. People realized that while Punk is great on the mic he's an average wrestler and when you're dealing with a workrate based promotion/fanbase just being hot on the mic isn't going to cut it.

I don't care about casuals. Casuals come and go.

This isn't the 80s/90s anymore. The whole mentality of one person moving the needle is dead. It's about being consistent in delivering a quality product that TV executives are happy with and judging from the collaborative theme shows such as "shark week" and Wednesday nights's "House Of The Dragon" show Discovery/Warner execs have a great amount of faith in the AEW brand.

And I've said a million times that this all depends on the promotion. What's valued in one promotion is not be valued in another. In WWE/NWA they value mic skills and gimmick over everything else. In AEW/NJPW/AAA/ROH/NOAH they value workrate then gimmick then mic skills. There's no such thing as the total package. Every wrestler that's ever been in the business has had a deficiency in one area. There's never been a wrestler that's been excellent across the board. It simply doesn't exist. What makes a great wrestler is you being great in one area and highlighting that strength. Great Muta/Keiji Muto never spoke a lick of English but if you ask anybody in the business and they'll tell you he's one of the greatest wrestlers of all-time.

You see things through the WWE lens of how a champion is is supposed to be presented. While that works for certain wrestlers not every wrestler should be put in the same box of presentation.

......spot on. We never agree on everything but this, absolutely.

Comments comparing him Valveteen Dream. Another automatic fast forward on the DVR.

:smh: :smh: :smh: :smh:

U know dream may have been gay but that dude could wrestle. I also remember an episode of him on tuff enuff. Dude had legit passion for the biz as a lifelong fan. He called out another contestant for it to. Shame what happened to him. Loved that finisher ddt he had.

The ratings have cooled down because the rest of the product, outside of the Punk, MJF and Danielson segments, is mediocre and comes off as amateur hour. Punk and the rest of the guys who have actually drawn money in the business can't carry the whole show.

Yes, I look at things through a WWE lens because they're the only wrestling company that has survived long-term and made money in this country.
I'm a business owner, so I always look at things from a business perspective not just as a fan.
The Japanese stuff is still a niche product that caters to niche audience in this country. Always has been, always will be.

In terms of AEW, we'll see once their current TV deal comes up for renewal just how much the higher ups value them.
It's a whole new leadership group in Discovery/Warner than the original group that TK was pals with and got his current deal with.
A lot of this feels like WCW all over again with a merger, new execs in charge and now seemingly the talent running amuck with no real leadership at the top.

Didn't watch Dynamite, but reading about whatever CM Punk said, he's such tool. Real bitch made shit.

It makes me wonder if all the shit he spoke of from his time in WWE was really as horrible as it was, or if he was just a fucking arrogant asshole. There's always three sides to a story but he's always came off toxic as fuck.

I have a feeling he's going to eventually wear out his welcome in AEW and TK may have to make a decision between him and their other, younger, stars...

Especially at the amount he's being paid, if his isn't bringing in killer numbers, why bother with an asshole who could demoralize the lockeroom like that.

Ughh! I hate it when YOU motherfcukers is right!

If Colt Cabana and his booking is the catalyst then this whole thing is even dumber. Colt Cabana is a good wrestler but at no point in his AEW career has the company pushed or done much of anything with him. It seemed like maybe they were going to do something with him in the Dark Order and Brodie Lee kind of targeting him but after Lee's death that went nowhere and went back to being just another person in the group.

Punk is just being a petty asshole since he doesn’t like Cabana anymore. He’s on some bitch shit like “he can’t be here if I’m here”….people went to bat for Cabana and that’s why TK kept him, but Punk wanted him gone, punk is a real bitch ass.

They weren't doing shit with Cabana when Punk wasn't there so his presence doesn't matter in AEW. Could mean something to ROH if it's ever a separate thing but bringing Cabana in in the first place to join the Dark Order and just be just another member of just another faction was worthless. He's basically Horace Hogan in the NWO the way that they've used him and the Dark Order isn't on that level.
Cabana was on Dynamite 4 times last year. Hard to justify keeping a guy who's being used so little even if he's a good wrestler. And the last couple of times that he was on Dynamite so was Punk.

I'm not defending them keeping Cabana on the AEW/ROH roster... just saying Punk is bitchmade over the rumored issues stemming from Cabana being on their roster.
