Missy has actually changed a lot over the years. She isn't the air headed blonde she use to be back in the day. She's actually studied and become well versed in her knowledge of pro wrestling. One of the reasons I started following her on Twitter a year back is she regularly talks about old matches from All Japan and New Japan.

For years we wanted a Roman heel and we got force feed the Big Dog and I think that was only for sales. Decades we had to deal with that Culture Vulture John Cena the Professor of Thug-enomics from a dude from the suburbs of Boston. One of the most racist states this side of the Mississippi. Not once does Psychology come up. The psychology of Daniel Bryan lasting in a match against Brock Lesnar damn near 10x as long as Kofi's match against Brock. Nope no psychology, wasn't shyt to say then. The broad that is most famous for a STRIP TEASE at a wrestling show wants to talk the psychology of wrestling?! Next she'll want to talk about how the Jay Lethal hurts the industry more than help, while having the likes of Johnny Gargano in her profile picture... <insert gif of red solo cup dude walking away>
I don't view it as her shitting on Cody. All she's saying is what most people are saying right now. You don't need to resort to extremes to get over if you have talent. It's not a cheap ploy it's basic common sense.
Honestly I don't know if she's spoken on those things or not. Like I said I've only been following Missy on Twitter for a year. What I do know is in the Japanese promotions (All Japan, New Japan, NOAH) and the old school American promotions (NWA, WCCW, AWA) psychology is very important. If you're a connoisseur of those products your mindset will be heavily skewed towards that philosophy. Plus I believe she graduated with a degree in psychology so that's another layer to add on top of it.
I know you're probably younger than me and perhaps it's a generational thing but I knew Missy from back in the WCCW (World Class Championship Wrestling) and UWF (Universal Wrestling Federation) days. We're talking 1985-1987. She's been in the wrestling business a long time and isn't most famous for a striptease. Lol. Anybody that grew up watching wrestling from my generation knows who Missy Hyatt is.

It is kinda nutty that he would eat a flaming table and pump fake a retirement just to avoid turning heel.
I'm starting to think when he cut that one promo where he basically pleaded with the fans to stop booing him if he did that to try to save himself from himself because at that point he had thought of several stunts like that that he'd be willing to do just to get people to cheer him again.
Like "please stop booing me before I kill myself because I'm too prideful to go back on my word."
Hopefully the pride is a part of the heel turn angle because 1. I don't want him to actually feel like he has to damn near kill himself for this and 2. it would be good material for a "you people" promo that heels typically cut.

Exactly. The thing is he's actually been great as a heel in the past. When he was in Ring Of Honor he did some of the best work in his career as a heel. Now he's on this fake patriotism hero gimmick that's overstayed it's welcome with the fans. It will be interesting to see how long he drags this out.
