I don't think Shane was as good as he thought he was but when he was healthy, he could go with anybody. Unfortunately, most of that time was spent in ECW when relatively few people were watching it.
I do think the Kliq fucked him in WWF, though.
HBK said in his book that the 123 Kid gave him a match and he sucked. (Apparently Waltman is the barometer for the agents.) Also they didn't like him because he thought he was bigger than what he was.
I read that and I'm sure there is a bit of truth to it (that was Waltman's job at the time, Jericho confirms that in his 2nd book) but he had a good run in WCW as a tag wrestler and had his great ECW run so he did not suck. It's highly likely that Shawn also felt threatened by Shane, seeing as they were hyping him for weeks and had already given him a push to the IC title contender level, so he and his boys cut his throat as soon as they could.
I know that as much as he denys it HBK didn't want to drop the IC title to him and Shane was pissed at immediately having to drop it to Razor Ramon.

To this day, Shane calls that Kliq fuckery and I think he's right. He got some rematches but they since Razor almost immediately into the Goldust feud and Shane just disappeared. I understand his bitterness. It's one thing to try and fail but to have your knees cut from under you can be frustrating.

That boy knows he can always go work for Jeff Jarrett in India (TNA runs Ring Ka King separately) or with his All Wheels project and can name his own price on the indies and internationally. Not hurting for money can free somebody's mouth up.
This is twice Hogan and Bischoff have let him go from TNA and he's had enough.
I stopped watching TNA soon as Hogan and Bitchoff arrived there.
You missed some good stuff and a lot of bullshit (it was heavy on the bullshit in those first few months). I think whatever fans they got by bringing in RVD, Hardy, and Flair, they lost bringing in the Nasty Boys and Scott Hall, turning AJ into a clown (again), and exiling Desmond Wolfe and Christopher Daniels. But slowly, they've gotten back on track with the last few months generally being some good wrestling tv.
I keep saying I'm gonna watch but forget it on. Plus I use to get the dvds but I don't think they make them anymore.
They do but their distributor either went out of business or was bought so they've been mostly on their website until they find a new one.
I haven't seen all of the ppvs but the only one I watched in any form that was recommendable in the Hogan/Bischoff era would be last year's Lockdown and this year's Victory Road.
I'll have to check them out.
To everybody in this thread, please, please, please, find a video from the latest Urban Wrestling Federation ppv "Reckless Assasins". Not for some good wrestling. There was that. Not for some of the baddest women to ever get near a wrestling ring (and a cameraman that likes ass). They're present.
But for the fight that breaks out between Julius Smokes and Robbie Moreno, the two color commentators, right before the main event. They were blabbing about the upcoming main and Smokes said something like "Let's put some cheese on this cracker" and Moreno, who's White, got hot. The boy screamed "I ain't no punk ass White boy!" and dove on Smokes, literally.
The shit looked more like a shoot than anythng I've seen in a long time. It blew Lawler vs Cole off the map.

We got to Jamie Noble for the first time in at least 3 years though it would have been cool if he attacked Sheamus in the middle of the chaos. Dustin Rhodes was out there. Alberto Del Rio in his new T-shirt. It was alright in part because pull aparts are something that they rarely do now.
