HHH Pushing For Him & JR To Take Over WWE Developmental

In what may be the very first clue of post-Vince McMahon World Wrestling Entertainment, HHH is pushing hard behind the scenes for what a key insider described to WrestleZone as "a major overhaul" to the developmental system.

"It's no secret within WWE that HHH feels the developmental system is a joke," our inside source told us this evening, "and the Florida developmental area looks to be a runaway train."

Our source tells us that HHH has pitched directly to Vince McMahon that Jim Ross be utilized in a recruiting capacity, while HHH would oversee more of what Talent Relations Executive John Laurinaitis does on a daily basis in terms of checking up on the system.

TOUGH ENOUGH?

WWE released that Steve Austin would be the host of this season’s Tough Enough series, which is a big coup for the show. Talks for Austin in this role had been going on for some time. The deal was made by Shed Media Inc., the production company, with Austin, which is an interesting note because it wasn’t WWE that made the deal, although WWE did attempt it and did want Austin for the spot.

It makes sense because as noted before, Tough Enough has to do good ratings, nearly double that of Ultimate Fighter, to be a success because of the higher standards of ratings by the USA Network in prime time. A 1.2 for Spike is great when they average an 0.6, but a 1.2 on USA, which averages a 2.3, is a disaster. The NCIS reruns in that time slot have topped 3.0 at times, and while nobody probably expects that, Tough Enough in a sense is in a similar position as NXT, and NXT ratings would be a major failure for the show and hurt their chances of landing anything non-in-ring wrestling going forward.

Austin I believe will help in week one, which airs after Raw and will do a solid number. But the first episode has to be good, because 8 p.m. on Monday has its drawbacks, including whether people want to watch three hours of wrestling on Mondays. Just Austin as host isn’t going to mean much for ratings by week three or four unless the show itself works.

Honestly she's average imo and the fact that HBK & Bret Hart were coming to blows over her is hilarious

Two things comes to mind when see this.

1. Triple H is right. The developmental territories are a joke and bringing in Jim Ross to run it could be HUGE.

2. Triple H should NEVER shave. I saw the trailer for that WWE film he starring in where he's clean shaving and :smh: Without a Motorhead beard it's really hard to overlook the fact that motherfucker's nose has to be about 11 inches long.

I pose an interesting topic for discussion...........

As I'm watching Battlebowl 93 on the 25yearsofwrestling channel on Youtube, I wonder if this type of ppv would be received well with today's audience. I know WWE had Cyber Sunday but we were told who the participants were in in advance and then we voted. (Even though the matches were still determined by WWE) At least with Battlebowl, nobody knew anything. (At least that's the perception) I know Battlebowl was catered to the tag team division, but it could be tweaked for singles competition. Its a shame that WWE, with all this library, can't come up with decent storylines for it's performers. It's so much shit that they could recycle and revamp to their current style. I would gladly settle for a wrestling channel, not that bullshit WWE ONDEMAND

What are your thoughts??????????????

Battlebowl was a one-time professional wrestling pay-per-view produced by World Championship Wrestling. It was made up of tag team matches in which the partners were randomly drawn in a "Lethal Lottery" and a team had to work together to advance to the Battlebowl Battle Royal. Previous versions of Battlebowl had taken place at Starrcade 1991 and Starrcade 1992. It took place on November 20, 1993 from the Pensacola Civic Center in Pensacola, Florida. The last Battlebowl was held at Slamboree 1996 under the name of Lord of the Ring.

I was a fan of Battlebowl. I only saw 91 and 93. I liked the premise of tag teams and a battle royal. I wouldn't mind seeing one in WWE but since Vince didn't make we wont ever see it.

Great idea if it happens. The last time Ross was in charge of talent, they brought up a whole lineup of main event guys and HHH does have a great mind for the business.

Great news if true, hhh has a great mind for the business it's just the fact that he buries people while wrestling that makes him an asshole.

Yep.

[QUOTE[Honestly she's average imo and the fact that HBK & Bret Hart were coming to blows over her is hilarious
In her prime, I thought she was hot. I had a couple females over her but she was before the influx of lingerie models.
Shawn and Bret only fought over her because Shawn said some backstage shit on tv. It's against every Man Code known to men to call out your coworker either in front of his wife or on tv when his wife is watching. Shawn did that and got his ass kicked.
Especially funny when he was the one banging her out and not Bret. Bret admitted to screwing around A LOT in his book but I don't remember him naming Sunny. Not so true for Shawn.

Never was a fan of Battlebowl but it was interesting and it was a good way to build up guys. I just hated they used it for Starrcade one year when it should have been it's own show.

Does anyone remember the Superbrawl rap song that I think was from 89? I googled it but couldn't find anything. It was doing a Flair vs Steamboat feud. I remember some of the lyrics going that who ever the Andersons were feuding with went " They can not defeat the father and the son " and something like " Superbrawl is about to begin " that's all I remember.

HHH Named The Most Overrated Wrestler Of All-time
Posted by Steve Carrier on 02/13/2011 at 11:58 PM

UGO.com has posted a list counting down the top 25 most overrated wrestlers of all-time. The ranking is topped by 13-time world champion Triple H, who was named Most Overrated in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter awards on three consecutive occasions (2002-2004), and again in 2009.

Regarding the self-proclaimed "King of Kings", UGO.com wrote: "For too long, Triple H has received a free pass from internet wrestling fans, but we say, "No more!" Sure, he used to be great, but that was before he destroyed his body and moved on to destroying the careers of younger wrestlers. Folks these days like to say that "The King of Kings" makes people into stars, but wrestlers tend to either succeed despite the terrible, emasculating beatings he gives them or just disappear back into the midcard. What's worse is that he does it all with the same four boring, mechanical moves - a fact which goes strangely unnoticed by the world's Cena-bashers, who tend to love "The Game." If Triple H was as great as people say he is, the past 13 years of constant pushes shouldn't have just turned him into another Rock or "Stone Cold," it should have gotten him elected King of the Universe.

"And The Chaperone looks atrocious."

The complete ranking is as follows:

25. Diesel
24. Arn Anderson
23. Alberto Del Rio
22. Jerry Lynn
21. Shelton Benjamin
20. Verne Gagne
19. Jeff Jarrett
18. Sabu
17. Finlay
16. Christopher Daniels
15. Mr. Anderson
14. William Regal
13. Indy Geeks (Mike Quackenbush pictured)
12. Randy Orton
11. Gorgeous George
10. Scott Hall
9. Dean Malenko
8. Owen Hart
7. Christian
6. Curt Hennig
5. Miss Elizabeth
4. Jerry "The King" Lawler
3. Giant Baba
2. Hulk Hogan
1. Triple H
To me this list is some bullshit. How in the hell is Shelton Benjamin on this list. He never really had a major push, he was never a main eventer, just a mid-carder. And where in the hell is John Cena at on this list ????

They got Shelton on there but no Batista?

And John Cena should be on the top of this list because he's the top face by default.

I think I said it in another thread about his video but I was so mad when I saw this. Mad at Ted but even more mad at Virgil. How can you let this cracker do that to little kid? I only stopped being mad about it last year (no lie)because Ted said in an interview that it was setup and the kid got paid. I've been struggling with this for twenty years:D. Can someone name an angle done on national tv today that will stay with anybody through the end of this year?

How did any of the people I bolded make an "overrated list?" Okay, Verne booked himself into the longest world title reign (men) of all time but he could still perform and had one of the greatest training camps ever (students like Ole Anderson, Ric Flair, Rick Steamboat and a host of other HoF names).

Word is Against All Odds was very good last night. Hardy getting the belt back was them thumbing their nose at the "smart" fans who just "knew" they wouldn't put the belt back on Jeff. Ultimately, Jeff has to get the belt back so he can feud over it, and lose it, to RVD, probably at Lockdown. More importantly, the work was good without being overrun by gimmicky, stupid finishes.

I'm not a fan of Hernandez coming back on some "Hispanic America" shit. He's got a legit reason to be pissed at Matt Morgan, that's the direction they should go. Calling Morgan "The Great White Hope" when ALL the champions are White is ridiculous.

THANKFULLY, Devon's kids didn't turn on him and instead Bully Ray kicked the shit out of them. We're headed to Lockdown with this one. Again Bubba and Devon booked themselves into something good. Fire Russo and promote Bubba and Devon.
