Numerous outlets are reporting the death of WWE Hall of Famer "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, who passed away due to stomach cancer on Sunday. He was 73.

Snuka was one of the most memorable stars of the 1980s, a larger-than-life babyface who was famous for his Superfly Splash, a jumping attack off the top rope. Though he held the NWA United States Championship and was a two-time ECW Heavyweight Champion, his greatest success came in WWE. While in the company he became a household name, spurred on by feuds with Bob Backlund and Don Muraco - in both programs, Snuka capped off major Madison Square Garden cage matches by hitting his Superfly Splash from the top of the cage.

In later years, Snuka continued to make WWE appearances. At WrestleMania VII, he became the first man to fall victim to The Undertaker at the show of shows, and he made cameo appearances throughout the late '90s and 2000s - including an appearance in the 2008 Royal Rumble. Two of Snuka's children - James (Sim) and Sarona (Tamina) - have also competed in WWE.

For the past couple of years, Snuka's name has been in the news for less auspicious reasons. In August of 2015, Snuka was diagnosed with stomach cancer, and the next month - and after years of rumored involvement in the crime - Snuka was arrested for the murder of his girlfriend, Nancy Argentino, in 1983. Snuka plead not guilty to the crime initially, but his lawyers then argued that years of head trauma had rendered him unfit for prosecution.

In June of 2016, Judge Kelly Banach declared that Snuka was not fit to stand trial and the case would be reevaluated in six months. On January 3, Banach dismissed all charges against Snuka, who was then in hospice care.
Wasn't he currently on trial for the possible murder of his wife? Last I heard his lawyers were saying that his mental state was deteriorated past the point where the state should charge him.
Super fly was a big part of my childhood and why I originally got into wrestling but sad to say, him dying before all the facts could come out might have been best for business.

Those Brits are weird looking as hell. This guy is a 19 year old kid.

Man you ain't neva lied. Most of of those young 20 somethings looked like they were pushing 40. And a couple of them are going to need some dental work before they can be on American TV
That's belt though
Easily the best looking belt that they made in years.

Top 5.
I hope this is his last run in wrestling and that he can end his career in the WWE. And it's been said about 100 times in this thread already but Angle and American Alpha. C'mon WWE, it basically writes itself.

Snuka was acquitted for those murder charges recently, like last month I think.

Cool. I'm glad he was acquitted.
Does anyone know why he was acquitted? I wonder if it was because of a lack of evidence or his lawyers winning out about his current mental state.

Edit: I didn't see that message above this before I wrote that.

Wonder who AJ will go against at Mania. Samoa Joe is probably headed to Smackdown. AJ doesn't get booed. They should turn him face and put him against Joe at Mania.

I hope they keep Joe in NXT. Joe, like Taz will be ruined in WWE.

Joe's done bruh. Joe was booked as a beast in NXT. I don't see that changing. Taz was heavyweight and was about 5 or 6 inches shorter than most guys on the roster. Not to mention his fame came from ECW. WWE wasn't ready to push someone of Taz stature at the time.

I feel like Joe would get lost in the main roster, like Zayn and others.

The intimate nature of NXT is very similar to ECW, and as popular as those guys are and as heavy and theybare pushed, some dudes translate well while other just don't.

I feel like Joe would get lost in the sea of Strowmans (hate that guy) Brocks, and Owens and others.

Yeah he would get lost on RAW. That's why I said he should start out with a feud with AJ. Raw is stacked with talent. It unlikely that he's going to Raw. Joe, The Revival, Tye Dillenger, are all perfect fits for Smackdown.

– The Hardys will face The Young Bucks at Supercard of Honor in ROH on April 1. ROH released the following video, showing Matt and Jeff Hardy reacting to the match announcement:

When Triple H beat Taz on Smackdown, exposed Taz weakness

I think the time has passed to push Kofi as a main event champion. After Randy temper tantrum bitch ass fucked up his push Kofi probably won't be more than a mid card champ. I can see Big E get a main event push but I it will require a heel turn on Kofi and Xavier.

props to both.
Big Show for being in the best shape of his adult life

and Strauman through good booking and strong work on his being a legit main event monster who doesn't feel like he has been shoved down our throats

I hate Strowman. Hate his roar. Hate his Captain Caveman beard. Hate that he's been booked to strong for someone with two moves. Most of all, I hate that he will destroy Big Show.

Rumor has it and it's starting to seem like it's true that AJ will be facing Shane McMahon at Mania

Got Damn I love NXT
props to Andres & Hale they called with Seth showing up tonight.

but it was a Glorious night.
great match and in ring work between Rhoode & Nakumira...i fucking loved it
phenomenal night...and real talk i wouldnt mind seeing Askia & Cross one on one going forward....they had chemistry

No one watch the Rumble? The Club finally won the tag titles. Cena tied Flair becoming a 16 time world champion. Owens retained the Universal title over Reigns. Dillenger entered number 10. Goldberg eliminated Brock. Taker eliminated Goldberg. I don't know why they let Orton win the Rumble. It only makes sense if Randy gives his shot to Bray and get the most out of this angle. No one wants to see Orton Vs Cena.
