Numerous outlets are reporting the death of WWE Hall of Famer "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, who passed away due to stomach cancer on Sunday. He was 73.
Snuka was one of the most memorable stars of the 1980s, a larger-than-life babyface who was famous for his Superfly Splash, a jumping attack off the top rope. Though he held the NWA United States Championship and was a two-time ECW Heavyweight Champion, his greatest success came in WWE. While in the company he became a household name, spurred on by feuds with Bob Backlund and Don Muraco - in both programs, Snuka capped off major Madison Square Garden cage matches by hitting his Superfly Splash from the top of the cage.
In later years, Snuka continued to make WWE appearances. At WrestleMania VII, he became the first man to fall victim to The Undertaker at the show of shows, and he made cameo appearances throughout the late '90s and 2000s - including an appearance in the 2008 Royal Rumble. Two of Snuka's children - James (Sim) and Sarona (Tamina) - have also competed in WWE.
For the past couple of years, Snuka's name has been in the news for less auspicious reasons. In August of 2015, Snuka was diagnosed with stomach cancer, and the next month - and after years of rumored involvement in the crime - Snuka was arrested for the murder of his girlfriend, Nancy Argentino, in 1983. Snuka plead not guilty to the crime initially, but his lawyers then argued that years of head trauma had rendered him unfit for prosecution.
In June of 2016, Judge Kelly Banach declared that Snuka was not fit to stand trial and the case would be reevaluated in six months. On January 3, Banach dismissed all charges against Snuka, who was then in hospice care.
Those Brits are weird looking as hell. This guy is a 19 year old kid.

Super fly was a big part of my childhood and why I originally got into wrestling but sad to say, him dying before all the facts could come out might have been best for business.
Man you ain't neva lied. Most of of those young 20 somethings looked like they were pushing 40. And a couple of them are going to need some dental work before they can be on American TV
That's belt though![]()
Easily the best looking belt that they made in years.

I hope this is his last run in wrestling and that he can end his career in the WWE. And it's been said about 100 times in this thread already but Angle and American Alpha. C'mon WWE, it basically writes itself.
Not acquitted, judge said he wasn't mentally competent to stand trial.Snuka was acquitted for those murder charges recently, like last month I think.
Cool. I'm glad he was acquitted.Snuka was acquitted for those murder charges recently, like last month I think.
I hope they keep Joe in NXT. Joe, like Taz will be ruined in WWE.Wonder who AJ will go against at Mania. Samoa Joe is probably headed to Smackdown. AJ doesn't get booed. They should turn him face and put him against Joe at Mania.
Joe's done bruh. Joe was booked as a beast in NXT. I don't see that changing. Taz was heavyweight and was about 5 or 6 inches shorter than most guys on the roster. Not to mention his fame came from ECW. WWE wasn't ready to push someone of Taz stature at the time.I hope they keep Joe in NXT. Joe, like Taz will be ruined in WWE.
I feel like Joe would get lost in the main roster, like Zayn and others.Joe's done bruh. Joe was booked as a beast in NXT. I don't see that changing. Yeah he would get lost on RAW. That's why I said he should start out with a feud with AJ. Raw is stacked with talent. It unlikely that he's going to Raw. Joe, The Revival, Tye Dillenger, are all perfect fits for Smackdown.I feel like Joe would get lost in the main roster, like Zayn and others.
The intimate nature of NXT is very similar to ECW, and as popular as those guys are and as heavy and theybare pushed, some dudes translate well while other just don't.
I feel like Joe would get lost in the sea of Strowmans (hate that guy) Brocks, and Owens and others.

Is she a wrestler?
It was always cool when DDP would hit the diamond cutter in different ways.
I hate Strowman. Hate his roar. Hate his Captain Caveman beard. Hate that he's been booked to strong for someone with two moves. Most of all, I hate that he will destroy Big Show.props to both.
Big Show for being in the best shape of his adult life
and Strauman through good booking and strong work on his being a legit main event monster who doesn't feel like he has been shoved down our throats
Rumor has it and it's starting to seem like it's true that AJ will be facing Shane McMahon at ManiaWonder who AJ will go against at Mania. Samoa Joe is probably headed to Smackdown. AJ doesn't get booed. They should turn him face and put him against Joe at Mania.
