NoDQ.com > WWE > Lilian Garcia Explains Her Tripping Incident
Posted by Steve Carrier on 04/18/2012 at 02:45 PM

SmackDown ring announcer Lilian Garcia has had a little trouble keeping her balance at recent WWE shows, most recently during Tuesday's SmackDown taping at The O2 Arena in London, England. On this occasion, Garcia tripped over pyrotechnics equipment and stumbled to her knees while making her way ringside. WWE immediately released footage of her misfortune, which features a soundtrack of Michael Cole and Booker T providing the "play-by-play." In a exclusive WWE.com interview, Garcia addressed her recent off-kilter moments

"Well you know, we're in London and they say London Bridge is falling down (laughs), actually it was me falling down!" she says of her 'trip' overseas.

"I walked in and I was looking up at the crowd and I didn't see that they had the pyro tubes right down in the bottom and I just went right over it and tripped and fell," Garcia says. The SmackDown Diva then points to her bruised knee, adding, "If this is the worst thing that happens to me, I'm okay."

Garcia suffered similar misfortune at the March 13 SmackDown taping as her shoe broke while making her ring entrance. She is asked what she plans to do to avoid these mishaps in the future.

"I think I need to top it, is what I need to do. Everytime it gets better and better, cause that definitely topped the whole shoe breaking incident," she says. "What can I say, I like to make big entrances."

Yep.
Though World Championship Wrestling was JCP's A show.
With Spike losing UFC and giving TNA, their highest rated show, a two year extension I'm surprised they didn't push to get Xplosion on Spike somewhere, like Saturday morning.

They don't even need to dig up Heyman. They should be looking out for new booking talent as well as in ring talent. Bring back Tommy Dreamer and let him do it. That guy is a loyal soldier for whoever he works for. I've seen him at indy shows/dvds with his TNA t-shirt on.
From what I've seen and heard, they don't see the value in the current syndication universe and Bischoff believes that even stronger. I strongly disagree because syndication is a good way to market individually to each market, very similar to the way ROH is doing it now.
It doesn't even have to be a whole different show, just the highlights of angles from Impact! and a couple new matches with one of them being a main event featuring the TV title. How is that hard and what do they have to lose? That's a lot safer and has greater potential return than having Impact! and ppvs on the road.

Syndication always been key to pro wrestling, I'm from Ohio had the chance to watch WWF,JCP,WCCW,UWF,WCW,GlOW and AWF (not counting low power channels) was all syndicated. I DVR ROH weekly and enjoy there old-school coming to your city promos like JCP did. If TNA had syndication I guarantee ratings would be 1.5 or better for Impact! Not everyone has cable Bitchoff (in Scott Steiner voice)

I discovered ECW and Smoky Mountain through local channels.

And even if the Impact! ratings didn't move at all, their house show attendance would improve. Just announcing that TNA is coming to your city, releasing the lineup on the internet, and maybe doing some local, last minute pub isn't getting it.

Since I'm just getting to watch all of Raw, let me throw some random shit out there about it

We knew having Broadus do the "Funkasaurus" gimmick was going to hold him back and it is. He gets nothing matches with Dolph Ziggler but Lord Tensai walks right in and gets a Raw match with John Cena. That's his fucking spot, if you ask me.

Damn Naomi, just damn.:smh::yes:

That Chicago crowd is going to eat Sheamus alive. Chicago is already a rabid wrestling city. And it's a ROH stronghold. And they've watered down Sheamus into a Irish John Cena while Daniel Bryan is red hot. I expect Bryan's pops to only be exceeded by Punk's.

Did Johnny Ace and David Otunga just uh...tag team Eve?

London was great for Impact! and they were great for Raw. Both companies need to hold tapings there more often and ASAP.

The WWE may as well just release the Usos as they are burying them.

Also based on the spoilers another former ROH standout is about to make his debut.

When I was a kid and lived in Chicago I saw WWF with a bit of NWA here and there. I moved to Atlanta and it became the opposite but also every Saturday night Joe Pedicino would show wrestling on one channel from about 8pm to 2 in the morning. WWF, USWA,etc.
The good old days before wrestling in the US became a damn near 1 trick pony.

Sheamus is going to get very little love in Chicago.

I missed all but the Tensai-Cena match. Not only he taking the spot that Clay probably would have ended up with I really believe that he's getting a third of the reaction that Clay would get cause Brodus Clay can cut a promo and I'm not sure if that's something that Lord Tensai(Albert) has improved on since he left.

Three Stooges actor Sean Hayes was on Conan this week and joked about hosting WWE RAW last week. He said he was embarrassed he did the gig and said he would never attend a WWE event.

So we all agree they had no business being there, he also mocked the divas and people who watch wrestling(his co-star is a life long fan)while his big claim to fame was playing an annoying gay man on a tv show.

Holy crap, so the douche who's playing Larry in the stooges movie says he was embarrassed to be on raw? But he's in the stooges movie?!!??

This is how Punk should use his Twitter: defending his company and business. Fuck that dude.

THis may be why he didn't win the title:

James Storm Taking Time Off To Heal
Posted by Joseph Lee on 04.20.2012

He will miss some live events...

"Cowboy" James Storm announced that he would be taking time off from the ring, including live events. He cut a promo in Impact about his luck running out, and followed that up with a tweet.

He wrote: "Emotional time in my life after Lockdown. Need time to think about what I need to do and will not be making live events. I apologize."

The word is that this is an opportunity for him to heal from several nagging injuries. He is expected to be out for at least several weeks.

Amazing that not one of the teams he(Da Gangstas) named had the Rock N Roll actually beat.
I know, right. When I first read this I thought dude would name drop katz like USA Express, California Dudes, or the Free Birds.

This dude - named: DOOM:smh:, The Steiner Bros:smh:, and the Road Warriors (aka Legion of Doom):smh: -

That might be it, RF. But it's cool because with Anderson and RVD back, Roode has plenty of top challengers and it gives them time to build for them to have ONE FINAL MATCH at Bound For Glory (if they plan that far ahead).

With all the teams they have beat, and it's a long, glorious one, he went the whole other way. I'm sure Ricky and Robert had a good laugh at that.

Smackdown:

So "The Big Deal" Titus O'Neil and Darren Young (Black Cena) are a tag team? Good but they need a name. That makes three real teams: them, the Usos, and Epico and Primo. The only problem is the tag champs are heels so they won't be getting a shot most likely.

Seeing them get squashed by Show and Khali makes me think Epico, Primo, and Rosa were shooting on their Twitter accounts after Mania and now they're in the doghouse. If the tag titles meant anything, they probably would have dropped them already.

It would've made sense to team Young back up with Percy Watson and reform the "South Beach Party Boyz" from their FCW days. As for Primo & Epico them shooting on twitter is an apparent storyline, so i don't think they're in the doghouse.

If it went somewhere and they played it up on tv, I would think so too, especially since I regard everything they do as a work until shown otherwise, but it hasn't. They have a lower profile than they did before and getting squashed by Show and Khali, with no payoff or even mention of the match on Smackdown, makes me think they fucked up and they're paying the price.
I'm willing to change my mind if they do something with this later but it has to be soon.

I like Watson more than O'Neil but O'Neil is a big guy and they love big guys. WWE careers start in NXT, not FCW, at least that's the way they act.

Someone posted the article back a couple page ago that that Primo & Epico twitter shoot was just a work. The both of them are jobbers, so they should be happy to have the tag titles and get what ever tv time they can as it is.

I hope the Young Bucks get another shot in the near future. Shawn Michaels & Marty Jannetty had their immaturity problems that cost them a job with WWE on their first shot, but later got a second chance. WWE needs an exciting innovative team like the Bucks to spark the tag division.

I am surprised that they haven't done more with Darren Young being that he looks so much like Cena.

I'm not convinced they were shooting but it's looking more and more like it to me. There's been no payoff and they went from winning nothing matches to losing matches and the little tv time they were getting has been cut. The Usos get more time (they job but they're on tv).
Add to that, they're Colons and Carlito has shown that they can get pissy when they're not getting what they feel is their proper due.

Unless WWE and/or TNA starts doing tag teams on a more consistent basis, they're better off with ROH and the indies. They're so much smaller than Marty and Shawn, who were smaller guys, that I don't see either breaking through as a singles (Matt was a good heel in TNA though).

I am surprised that they haven't done more with Darren Young being that he looks so much like Cena.

I'm not, he's still Black and he wasn't very good at the beginning. I thought a good time to do something with him was after he had some good matches with Regal on Supestars but what do I know?

#Heel

Ziggler needs to get a legit push hope they dont drop the ball with him they got him doing a lot of bullshit right now

It's getting to the "Now or Never" zone with Dolph.

Tommy Lang sent this item. ... A "YES! YES! YES!" chant broke out during the US Olympic wresting trials in Iowa City tonight. Crowd estimated at 13,750. Thought you'd be amused.

:lol::lol::lol:

That's something that wrestling's missing because it's gotten so heavily scripted: the interactive part. Going to the shows was mandatory so you could do the shit with Road Dogg or take a survey with Scott Hall or chant "Goldberg" or whatever that shit was Konnan used to say, the list goes on and on. Now they have to hit their lines without acknowledging the crowd. "Yes!" is catching on because it's a throwback to a more fun era.

On his Twitter, Hulk Hogan commented that going live weekly would, "solve 75% of [TNA's] issues."
Hogan also wrote about some of the changes coming to the company, writing, "Getting my head really wrapped around the fan business requests and how to transition Impact Wrestling beyond the Mania, attitude era,nwo era. Not just grow in a black beard or just switch a title or just verbally say were changing,I'm talking about really changing to foundation to Put Wrestling in a whole new era,I know I came up with the idea,I'm gonna really flush it out before I drop the bomb on you Maniacs.Crazy HH"

REACTION TO HULK HOGAN'S WAY TO TURN AROUND TNA, DID I REALLY SEE WWE DO THAT, WHERE ARE THEY NOW AND MOREby Dave Scherer @ 12:17 PM on 4/22/2012

I heard from a few people in TNA that were really frustrated by Hulk Hogan's statement yesterday that taking Impact live would solve 75% of the company's issues. They see it as yet another ridiculous statement made by someone who is out of touch with what the company needs to do, yet has a lot of say in the direction of the company. The feeling is that while live shows would be great, the company has much bigger issues to deal with (such as reliance on Hogan himself, the inability to book things properly and the pushing of friends and family over actual talented wrestlers). Given how numbers have dropped since Hulk Hogan replaced Sting and Garett and Eric Bischoff have become a focal point of the show, it's hard to argue with them. And that doesn't take into account the cost involved with going live weekly, which TNA has shown at this time they can't recoup.
