Spoiler for the WWE:

Last night they ran a promo for Lord Tenzai. That character is going to be portrayed by a wrestler known as Giant Bernand in Japan but better known here as A-Train and as Prince Albert.

It took me a minute to write something because that picture of Punk got me fucked up. Why hasn't Jericho used this? Fuck his pops being an alcoholic, he looks like an extra from Revenge of the Nerds.

I like Taz. He started off as bad as Booker but he and Cole got the point where they were the best team on tv with Cole as the play by play and Taz doing a good job of putting over what the wrestlers are going through. He seems to be the type of color guy that works to the level of the material: if TNA puts something good in front of him, he's good but if it's bad, he can't cover it.

I like Taz because he lives the business, but like you said he needs to be motivated. BTW -Taz has a finishing school that TNA really needs to use. It would help a wrestlers like Velvet refine her interview and mat work.

Having a full time job outside wrestling makes Robbie one of the smartest guys in the business. Unless he's got a good contract with TNA with a set amount of dates and money, he should stick to his teaching gig, even if he just goes to part-time or substitute.

I spoke to him about that. He said it sucks when he is needed when they tape on consecutive days. THere have been times he flew from Newark to Orlando, did a taping, flew back to Jersey to teach and then flew back AGAIN for the next days tapings.

Also what was cool was that I went to a house show near the H.S. where he teaches and a lot of his students showed up. They said when he won the X Division title he wore it around school

I saw that about Shane. They kept him off tv pretty well but he got the attention of the local audience for his show and that's all that's important.

Fortunately for the WWE, the cameramen didn't know what was going on so they didn't zoom in on it.

Injuries are killing Henry but instead of being rewarded for working hurt, they're burying him.
I heard him talking about retiring before his big push and title run so I think he was dead serious and I don't see him being in WWE for too much longer, 2013 at the latest (depending on his contract of course).

Didn't he sign a 20 year contract? That HAS to be up by now. McMah actually put up with a lot from Henry because he was injured a lot. It was just a shamed that he got to be a decent worker right before injuries/retirement, but at least he's leaving on a high note.

thumbnailCAFEHYQE_display_image.jpg

Yeah, he was bullied for sure

if jericho were to show that pic on the Titantron i bet the entire arena would be falling out laughing

Yeah, he was bullied for sure

I had to come out of lurk mode to say this " DAMN "

while I'm here though I just got to say I dont like the direction they're taking Mark Henry...when he was holding the title he was beating the shit out of everyone and dominating matches, but he had the belt so go figure, but after the injury he had they took the belt off him earlier than they had planned and now he's out there getting losing to a guy who was in a car accident earlier that same day and to top it off gets Rock Bottom as well...WHY COULDNT ROCK DO THAT TO OTUNGA, OR SANTINO ???? it's like the powers that be have said oh well he's had his run, let's throw him back down into main-event jobber status

The same Matt Bloom (Albert/A-Train) who, when his going to WWE was reported, denied it.
WWE needs more seasoned talent and Albert's been tearing it up in New Japan in tag teams. But "Lord Tenzai"? I have a bad feeling about this.

I like Taz because he lives the business, but like you said he needs to be motivated. BTW -Taz has a finishing school that TNA really needs to use. It would help a wrestlers like Velvet refine her interview and mat work.

 Between Taz's school, 3D's school, their working arrangement with Mexico and their developmental deal with OVW, there are plenty of places for them to send some of their younger talent for more training, from Velvet, Rosita and Brooke to Garrett Bischoff and Anarchia.
Hell, they can always send people to India for Ring Ka King.

That sounds rough but that's what is when you're trying to get established. Maybe he should buddy up to Ric Flair and let Naitch tell him about how much driving the guys used to do in the territory days.

 I think I remember hearing they renegotiated but I can't recall.
He got hurt a lot and he didn't put in the work to get better for a while. If he had taken it seriously sooner, he could have been a huge Vader-like heel right in the middle of the Attitude Era, when they allowed heels to be strong.
But yeah, at least he's going out on a strong note.

I agree. Since coming back from another serious injury, they haven't treated him well at all. Did he really have to job to Cena and Rock on the same show? He looked like old Mark last week and I hear he's going to put it on R-Truth but last winter he was looking like a monster over more than just midcarders. Dude beat Show, Kane, and Orton clean and now he's getting beat in 5 minute matches by Sheamus.

The 3D school got a bad rep when they sent that fat bitch Rosie up and she almost killed Daffney (Who was a HUGE loss for the KO division.)

:lol::lol::lol:

Yeah, I remember HHH saying how Flair has cataracts from laying in all the tanning beds so it sucked when he drove at night because he constantly got lost.

The thing about TNA is that you don't know when you're needed on Impact until a few days prior and it REALLY sucks is if you work have to work Xplosion. That shit is taped immediately after Impact so you're out of there worst case 11PM. Imagine having to catch a flight out of Orlando and having to be back in Jersey to teach by 9. Side note: Most of the TNA wrestlers fly Jet Blue. I've bumped into quite a few wrestlers on flights to Orlando.

I thought the Philly crowd sucked during Rock's Promo but it turns out the WWE fucked up the audio.

You'd think a billion dollar company would have better audio equipment:lol:

Shane Douglas aka Dean Douglas aka The Franchise aka 1/2 of the Dynamic Dudes with John Laurinitis

Considering his history with the WWF/WWE I guess going backstage wasn't an option though seeing him and Shawn Michaels being face to face would have been priceless.

I'm sorry, I remember shane, but where was he, that poster in the background?

Slow down son, you're killing me
:lol::lol::lol::lol:

Something else from Raw that I didn't see mentioned, watching the Bryan / Ryder match brought up one of my biggest pet peeves. I really HATE it when guy tap out within milliseconds of being put into a submissive move. You're not helping to sell the move by tapping out before the audience could even see what happened. Ryder damn near tapped out before the move was fully locked in. :smh:

I hate that too because it makes them look weak. Cena's stfu & Rock's sharpshooter are two of the worst applied submissions yet people always sell it.

This is a very:rolleyes:interview

John Cena did the Hot Clicks Podcast on SportsIllustrated.com to hype his match with Rock at WrestleMania 28. Among the highlights, Cena addressed the reasons behind the legit tension between he and Rock.

"I disagree with the way he does business...I congratulate him on all his success. He's had a Hall of Fame resume in WWE. His movies have grossed over $1 billion worldwide. But if was my career path, I would have done it differently...I disagree with some of the decisions he made."

"All that time being gone, and the total process he took to try to reinvent himself. I can show you magazine covers that say 'The Rock is Dead,' or ringside interviews where he's said, 'I'll never go back to wrestling.' Just talking bad about the vehicle that got you to the dance, and then when the dust settles wanting to come back to the dance."

Like be successful:lol:

Seriously he goes on to say that he wouldn't be good as a bad guy because all bad guys have some legit bad in them, basically saying he's too much of a good guy to play a bad guy. So cheating on your fiance with Mickie James is what good guys do? He's playing the company role model but he comes off like a douche in this interview

I was about to post this. Someone thinks their shit smells like potpourri.

From what I remember, The WWE wouldn't reup the Rocks deal or let him use the name "the Rock". He worked around that and was successful on the big screen. As I said before, why does Vince McMahon think that once you sign with him he owns you for life, even after your contract expires?

That being said, I NEVER remember heard or seeing the Rock talk bad about the WWE or wrestling in general.

Hornswoggle Apologizes to the Rock for Twitter Comments
Posted by Larry Csonka on 03.22.2012

Says he’s sorry…

- Last week, Hornswoggle had posted the following on his Twitter, and then deleted it…

Glad @TheRock needs to sing karaoke to get his $hit in. @JohnCena will always be a true professional, doesn't need scripted lines, bullet points, or #stupidsrxualinuendos like @TheRock

Now it seems as if all is well, as Hornswoggle posted the following apology…

Just had a talk with @TheRock ... http://t.co/uegyyMKr

The link goes to an image of Hornswoggle's arm, with "I'm Sorry" written on it.

The Rock responded, stating the following…

@wwehornswoggle Thank U but not needed. Its what friends do - talk it out. Plus, if U took a swing at me you'd hit my balls.#NoBallShots

I remember that and she was so not-ready. I miss Ms Zombie Hot.

They really need to fine tune that. How tough can it be to tell a guy if you plan on using him for your next set of tapings at least a week in advance?
I do hate how guys just disappear there. Jay Lethal was red hot coming out of the feud with Flair and then he was gone. Where the hell is Doug Williams? Pope? They have three singles titles, they should have a tv title match on every Impact! and ppv.

I hate that too because it makes them look weak. Cena's stfu & Rock's sharpshooter are two of the worst applied submissions yet people always sell it.

I know why Sting can really sit back on his Scorpion, bad knees, but what the hell is Rock's excuse?
And does Cena know the "F" in STF means "facelock"? The FU/AA sucks but at least it made sense for a big, brutish guy to have a big brutish finish.

He could be a good bad guy if booked and guided right so him saying that is bullshit.
Hey, we don't know he was creeping with Mickie while with his current wife (couples break up and make up all the time)and if he was, good guys do bad shit too.

Yes, he does. Vince thinks you owe him for life.
You remember right, Vince, like with Lex Luger, thought Rock was going to leave anyway, and dicked around on reupping him. I remember Rock saying he had no plans on leaving WWE but since Vince wasn't trying to re-sign him, he didn't have a choice.

I remember that and she was so not-ready. I miss Ms Zombie Hot.

She catered to a market of emo/goth kids that flood the arenas. One of the tapings I went to had a HUGE amount of them

Doug Williams is on Xplosion (which is not seen in the U.S. I aslo remember when A.J. was T.V. champ he said he'd defend the title on EVERY Impact. He then proceeded NOT to defend if for 4 months. The T.V. Title should be the used more than it is....and FUCK Jay Lethal. I watched him ignore some kids at an autograph signing.

The FU was supposed to be the Death Valley Driver, but all Cena does is slam you from a fireman's carry. How does that hurt any more than a slam?

He could be a good bad guy if booked and guided right so him saying that is bullshit.

It could be done but they are afraid of losing out of merch sales. Dude is popular with the kids and he gets a lot of request from sick kids in hospitals. I gues they don't want to fuck that up.

That's one of the reasons Vince has issues with the Rock (and to a lesser extent Sting.) They feel as if you have to go through them to be a success. I hope Sting DOESN'T ever go there just to prove a point.

Cena saying that reminded me so much of Favre speaking on the Javon Walker/Packers dispute, Rock wanted a legends deal like Foley and Vince just let the contract run out. When that happened Rock just said fuck em and started using his real name so the WWE couldn't make money off his films. He never spoke bad about wrestling ever he just didn't promote anything WWE related(why should he?), but he would show up at his uncles wrestling promotion and would speak highly of Tamina.

I remember that and she was so not-ready. I miss Ms Zombie Hot.

That match was awful and imo she wasn't at all interesting. The image of Daphne going through the barb wire table was sick but i give her props, too bad TNA started to fuck with her:smh:

He could be a good bad guy if booked and guided right so him saying that is bullshit.
Hey, we don't know he was creeping with Mickie while with his current wife (couples break up and make up all the time)and if he was, good guys do bad shit too.

He could be but one thing is for certain and that's the "Dr Of Thuganomics" gimmick is dead. It was fine when he was 25 and doing it, but at 35 he just looked like someones dad trying to be cool(oh and he was doing poetry because raps aren't that slow:lol:). She was probably with him at the time and just didn't care, but Cena did say that he felt his relationship with Mickie ended too soon(even with the stalking).

Corporate sellout would be a gimmick for Cena to go with, but my personal favorite was the one they stumbled on with Batista when he started acting like Kanye West.

As far as Mickie goes, apparently that woman got that fire because a couple wrestlers that dated her speak VERY highly of her.

She catered to a market of emo/goth kids that flood the arenas. One of the tapings I went to had a HUGE amount of them

That's a really untapped market TNA was positioned to work with when they had her and Raven together. One of TNA's weaknesses is trying to be old school in some ways (Mick Foley talked about in his last book) and then trying to be some new shit in others (acting like domestic syndication is dead).

Doug Williams is on Xplosion (which is not seen in the U.S. I aslo remember when A.J. was T.V. champ he said he'd defend the title on EVERY Impact. He then proceeded NOT to defend if for 4 months. I can't comment on Jay because I haven't seen him pull something like that but that's fucked up.
That's exactly the kind of stuff, with the TV title, I'm talking about with TNA. They have a lot of guys just sitting, so at least use them and having a TV title and the X-Division title is two segment right away that you don't have to do a lot of thinking a scripting for.

The FU was supposed to be the Death Valley Driver, but all Cena does is slam you from a fireman's carry. How does that hurt any more than a slam?

I know but you know they are not going to let him drop people on their heads and when he first started doing it, he was so uncoordinated that he would have killed someone doing the DVD properly.
I agree it's a shitty finish but Hogan beat people with his shitty legdrop and Rock has beaten people with the People's Elbow so I'm used to it. I don't like Wade Barrett's Wasteland but at least with him being 6'5, he puts a lot of umph in the slam from a good height.

It could be done but they are afraid of losing out of merch sales. Dude is popular with the kids and he gets a lot of request from sick kids in hospitals. I gues they don't want to fuck that up.

Which I completely understand. But they would sell more merch if they did a better job of booking him and killed SuperCena forever. Ricky Morton sold a lot of t-shirts before they were even doing merch and he got the shit kicked out of him every match.

That's one of the reasons Vince has issues with the Rock (and to a lesser extent Sting.) They feel as if you have to go through them to be a success. I hope Sting DOESN'T ever go there just to prove a point.

At this point, the only reason he'll go is to make that dvd WWE's been holding up for the last few years and get that HoF ring. No need to leave money on the table. When he turned down the opportunity to face Taker, which was on the table, that pretty much sealed the deal on him ever wrestling there.
Funny thing about Vince, guys that stand up to him and make their own way get way more respect than yes-men.

That match was awful and imo she wasn't at all interesting. The image of Daphne going through the barb wire table was sick but i give her props, too bad TNA started to fuck with her:smh:

Had they not fucked with her, she could be there now as a valet (since I think her injuries have ended her career). She was a special talent and they blew it.

He could be but one thing is for certain and that's the "Dr Of Thuganomics" gimmick is dead. It was fine when he was 25 and doing it, but at 35 he just looked like someones dad trying to be cool(oh and he was doing poetry because raps aren't that slow:lol:).

There is no going back to the Thuganomics schtick.

Corporate sellout would be a gimmick for Cena to go with, but my personal favorite was the one they stumbled on with Batista when he started acting like Kanye West.

That could work. A face that tries so hard to make people like him and they reject him so he turns. That shit is Heel Turn 101.

As far as Mickie goes, apparently that woman got that fire because a couple wrestlers that dated her speak VERY highly of her.

Not surprised. Country girls got it, bruh.

On a sad note

Joe Blanchard, the father of Tully Blanchard, who owned the first promotion to run on the USA Network, Southwest Championship Wrestling, passed away this morning at the age of 84.

In 2010, The NWA Legends Fanfest inducted Blanchard into their Hall of Heroes.

So that what Abyss looks like on the regular
And why the fuck is Eric Young part of the KO tag champs? When did that happen?

It's good to see people coming back to Impact since it's been so good.

Too bad ya'll waited until they brought Hogan back.:smh:

EY and ODB won the KO tag titles a couple weeks ago. They have a comedy angle going right now and getting more tv than they should. I like it and I like them and find them funny but some weeks it can be too much.

I havent watched TNA in about a year. Maybe I need to start back.

There's still going to be some stuff that makes you :hmm: but the good stuff is really consistently good with Roode, Storm, Ray, and Austin Aries (who's contract is coming up so I hope they're working on re-signing him) carrying the show every week.

Just saw Rocks interview on "Live With Kelly" and all i can say is.....BRING BACK REGIS!!!! He never got to talk about Wrestlemania because she kept interrupting him about how good he looked and then went straight to his Journey 2 movie. After that Jerry O'Connell felt we needed to hear a story about running into him at a deli out in Cali, and just like that the interview was over:smh: They had Taylor Swift on there and they were quick to push her out, but they felt that Jerry's wife Rebecca Romijn needed 2 full segments:smh::smh:

Regis always made it a point to talk about wrestling when he wrestlers on as guest since he was such a huge fan, and this annoying broad couldn't have cared less because she wanted to play some stupid married couples game later on in the show.

I just happened to catch it and while I thought they missed an opportunity to push Mania, I thought it was a repeat so it might not have been on Rock's mind at the moment.

I saw it said previously recorded for a minute but the guide menu said it was new:confused:
