Booker T shares The Undertaker’s disappointment over talent filming TikTok videos backstage:“I agree with Taker. I truly believe in keeping the character as real as you possibly can. Because that’s your money maker. I always say, can you imagine if The Undertaker was ‘The Phenom’ on pay-per-view on Saturday night, and then on Tuesday night, he was on TikTok as a chef? You wouldn’t be able to buy The Undertaker the same way, if he was to make you feel that way.So I think believing in the character and keeping the character sacred. It’s something that these young guys really don’t think about or care about these days.”

The thing is I don't think the fans care about people staying in character anymore.

More importantly, once camera phones and social media platforms became a thing it was over for that anyway.

Imagine how weird and pathetic The Undertaker would look if he were to constantly stay in character in this day and age when everyone over the age of 10 knows wrestling is scripted.

He and anyone who did that would be looked at like Brian Pumper when he was trying to rap.

I'll never understand women who have a problem with men having hobbies, don't they know it's what we do instead of getting our dicks sucked by their best friend and that one new girl at work with the tight ass and perky titties that don't droop like yours do!?!?

You stupid old bitch.... I'm tired of your ass!!!

.......….....

...............

Sorry I got... Uh...Caught up in the post.

Carry on gentleman.
Cause most women are boring and would rather talk shit on the phone all day then find something productive to do.

I think we need to put an asterisk on WWE this year. They're catering a large portion of their programming to a retiring wrestler and Cena deserves it.

And I feel like it's the first real year with TKO's influence along with the Netflix era.

I'll give them until next year to see if they'll stop going just for pops, work on developing their young talent & creating long term storylines.

That's the reason why i stopped watching RAW.

They keep bringing and give these old ass wrestlers more screen time vs the fresh talent they have in the back hardly even getting any screen time.

WWE could be so much better with quality matches if they had better storylines and developing their young talented wrestlers who should get more screen time.

I'm cautiously optimistic that you're right, I'll just keep it njpw and aew for now and I'll be back if they can get back to where they where pre-cena

And yeah I'm not a fan of Cena but you can't deny his impact and how he carries for them so if they're going to spend their plans for someone I'm not mad it's Cena(vs someone like Goldberg who suck even worse lol)

Trick & Oba need to be called up next year. Melo is a tiny guy so I'll give them a pass on him but if those other 2 come up and become jobbers when they're clearly along with Jevon, the top guys in NXT, I'm out.

They have so much talent that it just drives me fucking crazy when we have to watch shitty and old wrestlers, sadly that's a problem across the board, seems these companies can't pass up the easy nostalgia money but it's at the expense of their young talent. Aew does it, WWE does it quite a bit especially lately and no one is worse at letting go then fucking New Japan, dear lord lol I love me some new Japan but fuck let the young lions flourish!

I turned on NXT and I just can't get into Ja'von Evans Flippy shit. That's his whole offense. Like damn, can you do an armbar? I don't like AEW because they do a lot of this Flippy shit, I don't care to see it on NXT either. It takes me out a match and the show just started.

Different era, different crowds, different expectations. Isn't WWE still airing that backstage access ahow on Netflix.

The industry has evolved pass those old school notions of having to stay in character 24/7.

I agree to an extent but I definitely don't like when they show backstage shit, we all know it's not real but the less we see if them in costume while not in character the better. I have zero problems with them doing interviews and podcast out of character though. But ultimately like you said it's a new day and people don't give a shit about kayfabe

Mecedes Mone shouldn't be on the list.

I agree with that to a small extent.
Like you, I don't much care for the backstage stuff. For me, it comes down to not giving a single shit for the concept of celebrity.

I enjoy their larger than life characters they play on tv. I don't care in the slightest for the reality tv shows, IG post Twitter rants, or TikTok clips.

But unlike most current fans, I don't suffer from F.O.M.O. about that stuff. The ONLY time I see social media stuff about wrestling is when I come in here. If people stop posting it in here, I'd never see it again & wouldn't think about it ever.

Sasha/Mercedes is beautiful but her promos are cringe worthy and her in ring work, doesn't work for me brother.

It depends on who she's in the ring with, as with most wrestlers, but I cannot say she can carry a match when called upon like other wrestlers.

I have to respectfully disagree.

I've found that Sasha/Mercedes cuts some of the best promos in the history of wrestling when I watch them on mute.

Not saying wrestlers have to be in character 24/7 like in the past, but I believe a big reason why a lot of wrestlers have trouble getting over with the fans and why wrestling as a whole is not as mainstream as it used to be is because too many guys go out of their way to let the fans know everything is just an act and they don't really mean what they say.
Someone like MJF is popular because he stays in character so much people have no idea if that's how he really is in real life, which is good.
Imagine if Stone Cold back in the day would post videos of his cats on his ranch (like he does today) and then play the "Texas Rattlesnake" on RAW every Monday. No way he would have gotten over like he did.

Idk I am still on the fence about Mercedes. If she cannot talk she cannot draw money.
My list is in ring ability not mic skills or the least important factor which is how much money a wrestler makes for some billionaire lol

If it's about drawing then the top three ever are Hogan, Austin and the rock and obviously nobody would argue(including themselves) that they're the three best in ring performers of all time lol
