Warner Discovery doesn't own AEW so they can't tell them how there live show runs....but they CAN put pressure, even if it's slight, on how AEWs programming comes across Warner Discovery's network.
They are not trying to lose any money from sponsors getting offended from any content that appears on their networks.

Causing concern is enough of a concern for Warner Discovery to casually mention something to AEW.
Their deal was finalized this year. They ain't trying to fuck up any monies.... especially if a company they don't own causes their sponsors to threaten or make noise.
