Title reigns aren't all that important to me, it's that AEW are doing little to nothing with the talent that they have. If I wanted to see talent wasted like this I would still watch WWE. Some guys you don't HAVE to have them on every week if you have compelling feuds/programs going for each guy.

I feel you on this!!..I'm kinda upset how Sky lost the belt so soon...But it's still all about AEW!!...

Was he part of that tag team of white guys who dressed up as luchadors?

He was one half of the tag team TH2 (The Hybrid 2) with Angélico. They both use to be in "Lucha Underground". In this picture Jack Evans is on the right and Angélico is on the left. Angélico probably won't be resigned either.

Then it's not a streaming deal. At least not yet. It's either the rumored Supershow with New Japan or he got ROH a TV deal.

Continuing to cater to the hardcore fans will not help AEW grow.

Sounds ironic but AEW is basically like Chump 45, keeping with their base while WWE is trying to cater to everyone who wants "entertainment," from casuals to older wrestling fans.

I never got this argument. You are what you are as a TV show. The X-Files, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Game Of Thrones, The Sopranos, The Walking Dead, NEVER changed what they were as a TV show to appeal to casual viewers (channel flippers). Either you like government conspiracy/ UFO shows or you don't. Either you like crime drama shows are you don't. The same with law shows, hospital shows, cop shows, etc. I don't watch Grey's Anatomy and say why aren't you Game Of Thrones? You are what you are.

The same applies to a wrestling show. If I want to watch sports entertainment then I'll watch WWE. If I want to watch a serious sports based approach then I'll watch New Japan. If I want a hybrid of a lot of different things then I'll watch AEW/ROH. I remember when "The Wire" was on HBO. It didn't have good viewership in it's run but it's highly regarded as one of the best TV shows ever made. You should never sacrifice the integrity of your show to appeal to casual viewers.

The way you grow viewers is with consistency. Continue to put out a good to great show and the viewers will come. The show "Breaking Bad" didn't drastically grow its audience until the fourth season. It was good from the beginning but once word of mouth got around of how consistently good it was more people started to watch. Same with shows "Game Of Thrones" and The Sopranos".

I think CM Punk will be the next champ taking it off of Hangman at "Double Or Nothing" in May then Punk holds it until either winter of this year or early next year where MJF will then take the belt off of him.

It ain't about YOU and what YOU like. It's about TV networks and whether they can draw eyes to their product. WWE regularly gets +1 million rating even with shitty shows.

Viewership for wrestling is down overall, however AEW isn't helping themselves build an audience outside off their hardcore fanbase. Even with the Punk and Danielson signings, they had a quick boost in ratings and it ended up dropping again.

There is only so many times TK can draw from the "Major Announcement well" before people stop caring.

At the end of the day, it's an entertainment show. And with the Time Warner/Discovery merger, AEW would probably be better off trying to grow an audience outside of their fanbase instead of just entertaining the smart marks.

Of course it's about ME; I'M A VIEWER like anybody else. So it's exactly about what I like. If I don't like a particular TV show I simply don't watch it and my viewing habits will reflect that. Again, I don't watch Grey's Anatomy and complain because it's not Breaking Bad. THE SHOW IS WHAT IT IS.

You draw eyes on the product through advertisements not changing the dynamics of what a show is.

And AEW hovers around 900k to 1 million which always performs in the top 3 shows on Wednesday nights on cable.

Wrestling is niche. That Vince Russo/ Jerry Springer WWE bullshit in the 90's isn't coming back no matter what you do. TV has changed since the 90's and viewing habits have changed. There's too many high quality TV shows out nowadays for people to be focused on watching a wrestling show..

People will stop caring when there's nothing worthy of a big announcement. To a real wrestling fan a NJPW/AEW Supershow is a big announcement. A HBO Max streaming deal is a big announcement.

Casuals aren't the ones that got you to the dance it was the hardcore fanbase that did that. That's who you appeal to. Fuck the casuals!
