Maybe unprofessional but they were right to do it. The idea of "pounding him with facts" sounds good but what good would it do? At this point, there are no "undecided" people with Bill O'Reilly so you won't change any perceptions and he's not one to let facts affect his opinion. So, to express your contempt for his statement, walk out AND let your producer know you've had enough of Bill O'Reilly coming on the show talking that bullshit.
And personifying the ignorance of a large segment of the general population.

EXACTLY. That's all he does. He says something INTENTIONALLY fucked up, then asks you a stupid ass question, won't let you answer, then yells over you. The best person that interacted with him was Stephen Colbert. Fool didn't fall for any of his shit and just threw it back at him all calm and collected.
Colbert would not let O'Reilly make him break character and O'Reilly hates Colbert.

He's sitting taking up for 9/11 families but didn't he, famously, get into a shouting match, where he called him a "disgrace" with a guy who's dad died in the towers because the guy didn't agree with him? So he's just concerned about 9/11 families that like and agree with him?
He's not concerned about anything other than his multi-million-dollar book and TV deals. He knows how to play to his audience. FACTS are irrelevant.
