We can't continue to push that independent mindset if we want to survive. Majority of these relationship podcasts & tv shows geared to us are straight psyop.
You can't compare the african american circumstances to east indians, chinese/asians and whites. NONE of those groups came to this country in chains. Being someplace voluntarily is a completely different mindset on its own than being FORCED somewhere.
Those groups ahead of us didnt lose their identity or had their culture beaten out of them and replaced with a skin color designation. Those groups came here in search of a new life...not treated like cattle. Those groups didn't have laws created for and about them that addressed how they are to be regarded in american society. In fact many were RUNNING AWAY from their own countries to GETAWAY from that kind of treatment.
That is NOT the circumstances of Africans coming to the US in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
The Servicemen's Readjustment Act of 1944, the G.I. Bill 's language did not specifically exclude African-American veterans from its benefits,
it was structured in a way that ultimately shut doors for the 1.2 million Black veterans who had bravely served their country during World War II, in segregated ranks. The original GI Bill ended in July 1956.
By that time, nearly 8 million World War II veterans had received education or training, and 4.3 million home loans worth $33 billion had been handed out. But most Black veterans had been left behind. As employment, college attendance and wealth surged for whites, disparities with their Black counterparts not only continued but widened.
There was no greater instrument for widening an already huge racial gap in postwar America than the GI Bill.
Even if you discount the trauma of slavery and just look at what went down from 1865 to 2000....thats just ONE instance in the last 100 years. How do you think that exclusion affected the black family's ability to rise from their financial status?
Is marriage a factor in income? Yes being with a like minded partner or a team period, always helps but its not the ONLY FACTOR and IMO not even a big one.
