The Top Ten cities for African Americans 2007----Im shocked at #1...#2 is expected!

Re: The Top Ten cities for African Americans 2007----Im shocked at #1...#2 is expecte

Not sure why you're shocked by number 1, D.C. has alot of job oppurtunities for blacks. You don't have to live in D.C., you do know you can commute and that is what a large proportion of people I know do?

Re: The Top Ten cities for African Americans 2007----Im shocked at #1...#2 is expecte

What kind of jobs

IMO, DC is a overly expensive

D.C. is expensive and the politics/demographics are changing but it's still a great area to live in. They key is it's convenience. In any direction you can be somewhere cool in 2 hrs. Go North no more than 4 hours...NYC, Atlantic City, Philly, Delaware Slots. Go South...VA Beach, Kings Dominion, Hampton Roads. Go east and you can do some good fishing in the Chesapeake. Tired of DC (city) then go to Baltimore's Harbor (btw...there are tons of single and attractive women in Baltimore County...trust me).

Now the attitude of the people is a different story, but I like it here.

Did you hear what I said

Alot of people COMMUTE to D.C.

And if you're so interested in what kinds of jobs are available in D.C. shouldn't you be looking that up since it peaks your curiosity so much? If you're not willing to look for yourself then why even bother asking. I don't have extensive knowledge about the job oppurtunities in D.C. but it's plentiful. I'm mainly going off personal experiances I have encountered with other black men and woman who work in D.C.

People on the East Coast in general seem to have an attitude problem compared to the Midwest, south, and west coast.

Truth which explains my love of Southern Women. Less chips on their shoulders and they are hospitable. If I stay over here, I will probably never get married. The do or die east is not for those who like real friendly people.

Alex.. D.C. by far has the largest black population with post graduate degrees, etc. Yeah, it is expensive, but the black professional community is strong there. I am not surprised by that one at all...

man shut the fuck up. Niggas always talkin sideways. You dont have extensive knowledge of the area yet you somehow know the job market is plentiful. Niggah you ever heard of term contradiction.

And niggah its not a top ten city if you have to commute

that defeats the purpose of living "in" the city you runny nose retard.

This is thread to discuss the black enterprise mag top ten list. Drop some facts or shut the fuck up

Yep, it even spills down into the fast food industry and all the people who behave like you're trying to rob them while you're trying to place an order. Shit is ridiculous.

Black Enterprises Top Ten Cities for African Americans to live, work, and play

I dont understand how D.C is a great place for us to live when its only affordable for the upper middle class and rich

Re: The Top Ten cities for African Americans 2007----Im shocked at #1...#2 is expecte

Yes I know the job market is plentiful, I live near D.C. Even eewwll justified my remarks. Like I stated earlier, most of the affluent black males, females, and families I have come across either either work or own a business in D.C. and they do not live there. Instead they live in the counties surrounding D.C. like P.G. Country, Charles county, and Montgomery County, etc. I'm not even sure if this list is specifically pointing out whether or not the numbers are compiled to show the number of blacks "living in" the actual city or the high rate of black employment.

I know what the title states, but the majority of the black woman and men who work in D.C. don't actually live within the city itself. They live in the Suburbs and counties around D.C.

And what was the point of spewing insults out of your mouth when I never verbally attacked you? Sounds like some childish irrational FUCKYOU type shit.

DC is made up of md and VA , You dont have to be upper middle class or rich to live there. In my opinion seeing that many wealthy Blacks sparks my interest and ambition.
Ironically i picked up that mag Sunday ,while flying to Dc lol. Helping out my job by subbing out here for the week. The area manager out here said they cant keep people cause people keep leaving getting better tech jobs . Sparked my Interest cause it was a toss up between orlando and Dc for me when I moved in December and so far orlando isnt cracking like I thought it would, so im going to be looking into Dc a little b it more. BTW Public transportation should be the only way to go out here. At 5 oclock it takes hrs to get around.

That's true, I stayed in that area when I went to school and it is growing and growing with job opportunities (especially in the IT field)

But of course I'm doing the damn thing where I'm at right now too

Re: The Top Ten cities for African Americans 2007----Im shocked at #1...#2 is expecte

I'm sick of seeing Atlanta always at the top of the list for blacks to live. I heard that back in the 90's Atlanta was the shit for young and retired black people. People was moving there for the jobs, education, housing, and retirement. Now in 2007 I hear that Atlanta ain't nothing but one big ghetto because all the younger people who moved there fucked it up. When I think of ATL I think of FREAKNIK ... :D

Don't sleep on Charlotte and Raleigh. Charlotte is the shit for younger people.
