I have it, works great. What did you want to know?
I'm a barber and I want to use for my buissness. More people asking do we take credit or debit, not enough to get a machine and have a contract or monthly fee. This sounds prefect for my situation. You have to give your personal info, is it trust worthy, do you get your money in one buissness day as promised. You know I need to know the important stuff.
If that is the case, Square will be perfect for you. Is it instant money? No. But you don't have to wait days and days either.
I have Square. Not used it for a while since my volume is high enough for me to get a better rate the traditional way. It's great for what it is. Only caveat I would say is that some people will not trust it. If they don't know what Square is about, their apprehension will keep them from handing their card over. Since it doesn't look like a "real" traditional credit card machine but more akin to a hacker's skimmer, you'll lose few sales to it.
First time I saw it, I refused to turn my card over. That's I learned about the device itself. I suggest that you ask upfront if they prefer cash or credit. If they want the credit option, tell them about the Square. Have a few brochures about it, because you'll have to explain what it is.
Also check out intuit GoPayment. I believe it's cheaper than Square. 2.7% to Square's 2.75% swipe rate. They both have free apps and free readers. People might trust intuit (Quicken) name more.
C/s I told some cats at The barber shop bout this and they been mad appreciative of it. But I use it for transactions as well and its legit. I carry it around everywhere and the device is universal works on both my droid and ios devices
