It comes from the same animal where tons of other products you like to eat come from, just from different part of the body

You like burgers, steak, chop meat, certain barbeque meats well they come from a cow . Ox tail come from a cow to just a diff part.. the appeal is it taste good when cooked right thee ends

It's one of those meats that if cooked correctly will fall off the bone, melt in your mouth, and taste like magic.

That being said tho, it takes HOURS to slimmer oxtail correctly, and there are a lot of steps in the cooking process where you could easily fuck the whole thing up.

It's easily in my top 5 of foods and yet I've only ever attempted to cook it myself twice. It takes too much work and it's just not worth it (imho).

With the high prices, I usually only have it once or twice a year now. Whenever I can make it back to mom's or other family. i.e. people I can trust not to fuck it up

Wouldn't an Instant Pot or pressure cooker make the process a little simpler?

Thank you for the real answer and not some smart asshole type response from the children

I brought that idea up to my mom once while watching her cook some and she didn't answer me.

She just hit me with the coldest, 'how dare you' looks that I've seen. I thought it best to let the topic drop and never mention it again
