With Mello not being a facilitator, he makes the Knicks easy to defend. Pretty much one can just play the numbers game. An NBA player shoots between 28-48% . You figure Mello will make atleast half his shots.

If he is going to stop the ball like he does and go iso it favors the defense because he will shoot some where between 28-48%. From a coaching stand point you would live with Mello going iso because he most likely will shoot under 40%.

All you now have to do as a defense is stay on your man and let Mello shoot. He needs to take a page out of Lebrons book. Lebron puts alot of pressure on the defense because he gets role players easy high percentage shots. Mello is killing his team.

Melo got a nice pull up, it's his post up that needs work. If I remember correctly he did that a little more when he was in Denver.

Jr is just soft as a feather. If he ain't hitting then I don't even know what use he is.

Y'all will play better for sure and the calls will be different as well. Wake up call for the Knicks.

Fuck that largebills, he should not be rewarded for that iso bullshit and running into the lane throwing up bad shots against standing defenders. Most those of those "non-calls" were properly called. Hibbert stood tall and extended vertically most of the day. Marshmelo should have passed the fucking ball.

he did the same shit in denver. he'd either shoot you into a game or shoot you completely out of it.

i can't wait for the day when 'marshmelo' drives into the lane, sucks-in the defense and kicks the ball out to a reliable (not jr smith), consistent jump shooter.

but in all honesty... that's not melo. he's a ball hog.

As a Mavs fan who saw us lose a RING over missed calls? I just can't rock with that excuse. It happens time and time again. They got outrebounded 44 to 30. Melo missed 18 shots. JR was 4-15. Tyson Chandler had 3 rebounds in 28 minutes......That ref excuse ain't gonna ride. Especially with the favorable calls Melo usually gets.

I don't know why he doesn't chill in the post. He can score with anyone in the post but just like most guys in the NBA they fall in love with that jumper and die by it. I'll never understand it.

Wally Szczerbiak just said this shit on the Knicks post game. You may not be drawing Hibbert out of the paint (having Amar'e would force him to come out though) but the Knicks need to make the Pacers adjust to them. It makes no sense to try to match something that's a strength of their team. Do what YOU do best and force them to match you. They play slow ball so push the pace. They like to bang, so move the ball and run some pick and rolls. Chandler didn't neutralize Hibbert like he normally does so you have to play a style that negates their size. Move the ball and make your jumpshots. Take advantage of your mismatches and let Felton run the offense. Melo is clearly not himself right now so go with your hot hands.

Off the bench journeyman has meant more to his team in big games than Melo the last two weeks. Yeah, Dude is putting up big scoring numbers but he's shooting 35% and fucking up the continuity of the team offensively. His points are fools gold at this point.

I still think the Knicks will pull this series out, but they have to chill with all this ISO shit... If the Pacers when 1 of the next two, then there is a problem. Even if NY wins game 2, they still have lost HCA...
