No one knows. They asked him repeatedly in the press conference and he ducked that question like when ole'boy threw them shoes at George W.
But honestly at this stage of the game I'm GLAD he did what he did. The owner and GM needed to see the true colors of these two asshats. You're down by 5, on a game winning drive, and you (Kubiak) pull the starting QB for this turnover prone statue (Schaub) to go and fuck it up. He fails miserably, loses the game, and is seen arguing with the greatest player in franchise history thus far. Then the coach can give NO ANSWER TO JUSTIFY HIS DECISION to pull the starting QB in a game which you still could have won.
What does that tell you about these two?
i think releasing him is the right move, but i doubt they do it during the season. Although not liked as our QB, Schaub is very active in the Houston community and does a lot for the poor, the youth, and has numerous charitable programs.
Ed Reed hustled the Texans, then bad mouthed the team to the media. We've never allowed that shit to fly with any player PERIOD. The Texans have a standard they set, and i like that they stick to them. Dunta Robinson learned this as well. We'll pay you, but when you go public with a private matter, get your $$$$$ elsewhere.
There are at least 10 good QB's in this draft. I think Bridgewater is a game changer. Mariota is still a project, and Boyd is proven. you still got the kid at UCLA, the one from Miami, and those SEC quarterbacks come ready to play it seems.
At this rate, we'll likely have a top 5 pick. I don't think that's what we need though. This is still a very good team. we should trade back, get more picks, and stock up. We have quite a few holes to fill.
