The official DNC thread 2012

That "I am the President"...line was powerful.

Yes it was...I was like, "That's right! Tell those people what time it is! Don't let them punk you!"

I think he's gonna be more assertive this time...and he (and we) will be better for it...

Maybe I should make that my ringtone...some cacs will be PISSED when they hear it! :D

Republicans want you to believe that the American Dream is something millionaires and billionaires sprinkle on people that are nice to them. Obama is saying it is a GOD given right to those that work hard on a level playing field. OBAMA will have 4 MORE YEARS to prove it.

Very well put:yes:

''You’re the reason a young immigrant who grew up here and went to school here and pledged allegiance to our flag will no longer be deported from the only country she’s ever called home; why selfless soldiers won’t be kicked out of the military because of who they are or who they love; why thousands of families have finally been able to say to the loved ones who served us so bravely: “Welcome home.”

Now, I have a question for all of you. Do you think more people believe in your/the democratic party values this time around?

...and how many people are going to put their money where their mouth is and donate or volunteer to help the campaign?

I asked the donate question before and a bunch of people said they donated last time, but weren't this time :hmm:

probably not... but i damn sure that there are less people out there like you who vote republican because they claim to be different and now a follower :smh::smh::smh::smh::smh::smh:

Now, I know for a fact *knowing a bunch of Tea Party members at my job* that they are DEEP as hell. Plus, it's not just old ass white folks.

Trust me on this, don't fucking underestimate them. If anything will win it for Romney, it will be them.

deep down inside republicans want obama to win just to get rid of the tea party. hell it is already clear they dont like romney as a candidate.

another term for obama defeats the tea party and maybe gets congress moving thus improving the republicans chances of taking office in 2016

My question to you would be, what about the conservative movement (repubs and tea partiers) do you relate too ? Half of their views provide no support for a young brother like yourself. Hell, their vision of America does not include you...just look at the convention, there was absolutely no one that matched your profile in the audience. That is not some random coincidence...

I can't wait to see the numbers on the ratings.

the most important number comes out tomorrow at 9am and that is the jobs number. the president already knows what it is going to be.

something tells me that if it was a good number he would have mentioned it in his speech tonight as a side note :dunno:

We donate regularly. And tonight we made a big donation. I registered people last election and doing so this year as well.

Fixed that for ya

I didn't donate a damn thing last time except for my vote, but I've been donating religiously this cycle for the past four months or so. There's even more at stake this time around and I guess I'm one of those few who can say that I am better off now than I was four years ago.

you did... i dont feel like looking back through this thread to get a direct quote but you said something to the nature of i am a republican because i dont want to be a follower and be a democrat like everyone else

Honestly, why does it matter what political party I'm affiliated with?

Why does it bother so many folks on here?

I'm not McFuzzing it up on this bitch.

I don't think it bothers us, but it just appears you're shitting on the Democrats at times, but I could be wrong.

There will be blood at the debates :lol:

Barack Obama is laying into Romney's weak underbelly: his foreign policy:

My opponent and his running mate are new to foreign policy, but from all that we’ve seen and heard, they want to take us back to an era of blustering and blundering that cost America so dearly.

After all, you don’t call Russia our number one enemy – and not al-Qaida – unless you’re still stuck in a Cold War time warp.

And finally a shout-out to the London 2012 Games there:

You might not be ready for diplomacy with Beijing if you can’t visit the Olympics without insulting our closest ally.

This was a gut shot!

i could care less what you are or who you vote for but i have heard your logic and thinking on politics many times before and frankly i believe you are confused.

we have argued this many times before back when they had that sol chat forum.

I relate to the fact that I do believe that government does need to be SMALLER. I do believe that the one thing that's hurting our community is that we do not have, overall, economic growth. I do believe that welfare did have an effect on the black family. I do believe that smart, strong, and simple regulation is better than over regulation. I do believe that we need to protect our borders because that's where the drugs are coming from. I believe that the tax code does need to be revamped because it is severely outdated.

I could go on Swat, but you probably get the point. My race does not constitute my political beliefs. I think that's the main reason why Black America does not have political power right now. Our community only see's it one way. I do not believe in having a narrow vision on issues.

Besides, if I didn't say my political affiliation, and just talk community issues, many of you would probably agree with me.

He's a Republican, that's what they do. I'm surprised at his reticense at just saying it.

well technically he don't qualify to be a republican since he is a working mailman and he has not started a business or created jobs. at least that is how they are defining republican as of late and how all their speakers at their convention described it

Has that happened yet? Not saying you couldn't pull some converts for a minute but the solutions you would suggest from your chosen ideology would turn off most thinking people.

:eek:WHOA!!!!!

I've chopped it up with AAA a million times and I never ask about his profession because it's never been relevent

but you CANNOT be a Republican and be a mailman. Can't be. That's the most self defeatist thing I've heard all week, at least.

I'm going to pick my wife up and I'm going to bed but I will be back to see this tomorrow.

Well doggish, you do not see anything wrong with our race voting only for one party?

BTW, I'm a long way from being confused. I understand that a good speech does not constitute a good leader. The smartest person does not mean that he/she is capable of being an effective leader.

I think one thing that makes you think that I'm confused is because we come from two different environments. I'm from Texas, you are from Philly. You are entitled to your opinion. I just disagree with it.
