I gotta try that. Do you use apple sauce, or just plain apples?
I use apple sauce but I suppose you could tweak it to your liking.
More of a consistency and smooth texture when the apple is already sauced.

What Is Quinoa?
first week down of no meats and no sweets,
to sum up week one the only difference i feel is that i have less energy it seems like i am always yawning. still worked out every day but the energy levels are lower than they were the last time i did this.
one week to go will see how i feel next week. it really wasn't all that hard except for the no candy part.
how many portions of beans or other veg protein options are you taking in each day? and what other supplements are you using (vitamins, elixirs, etc) 'cause the last thing u should be feeling is less energetic.
Vegan Apple Pie Smoothie
First time I made this I hated it, I have perfected it and it is "The shit"![]()
no beans, just green leafy vegetables and brown rice or yams daily. no supplements either
yeah playboy, u gotta add protein to your veg diet. include either beans, peanut butter sandwiches, lentils, raw nuts (almonds are the best option imo), hummus and pita bread, muesli, soy based products or chickpeas. any of those (or even combing two at a meal) will GREATLY increase your energy and knock out all that yawning you're doing. after a day or two of loading, you'll have energy like a mutha fuka
and adding a daily multi vitamin would do u right too
adding all of that would defeat the purpose of me doing this "cleanse"
doggish, protein isnt at issue here. Its either caloric intake or insufficient vitamin B. With you adjusting your diet and still working out you are probably burning more fuel than usual. Might want to increase leafy greens and fruits containing B's to help get you through the day. Nuts and nut butters are a great way to add good energy/calories as well.
We cant really make that determination based on the info he's given us.you're not really telling the whole story. yes, caloric intake is a part of the reason, but lack of protein is the main culprit to his lack of energy..
u don't have to add all of it, which is why i included the word 'either'. but for your cleanse u can opt to use a teaspoon of bragg organic apple cider vinegar and mix it into a cold 8 oz glass of water then drink it straight.

it will help increase your energy as well. you just won't feel full after using it, like you would if u ate the other veg proteins suggestions i mentioned earlier
you're not really telling the whole story. yes, caloric intake is a part of the reason, but lack of protein is the main culprit to his lack of energy; 'If you eat enough protein, yet still feel devoid of energy, consider increasing your calorie intake'

Did you make it exactly like the video or did you add some more ingredients?
If you're trying to get your protein needs. These two are good options. Pea & Rice proteins are complete proteins and when combined make a superior amount of amino acids. I use these two in my energy bars with oats or quinoa as a base and a lot of other healthy stuff. I get about 22 - 24 grams of protein per bar. Thats damn good for a non meat source.

There was a vid posted where these two dudes were going in talking about how all protein powder sources are the same.
Not true. Which is why everyone is staying away from whey and soy protein.
I thought whey was the protein choice of most. Since when did people start staying away. I know people avoid soy saying it can make you fat.

I personally use isopure because all the others ones have me farting to much
I feel you. I think the best non meat protein source is Quinoa. Like meat, it's a complete protein. You get about 24 grams of protein per cup. Oats are a good source too. You get about 14 grams per cup, but its not a complete protein.
im about to begin my diet/exercise routine. glad this topic game back to the front page.
I've lately been tossing around the idea of beginning to eat healthy. A lot of the shit that is bad for you is gross to me at this point anyway. Plus I've never been a picky eater so the thought of eating the healthy stuff doesn't really turn me off.
I've already kinda started by cutting back on my red meat intake.
My sauce ain't going nowhere though..
fuck that.
bump for the eating healthy thread we need more threads like this
I used to eat canned black beans and I realized the sodium is a little too high, I'm switching to dry beans.
