The Official Cavs vs. Magic thread

Cavs have to stay at home and just deal with Howard destroying them in the middle. I'd rather give up a 2 than a 3.

normally i'd say the opposite, but with this orlando magic team having 2 (and sometimes 3) legit deep threats on the floor at the same time, i also recommend this strategy.

rashard lewis
hedo turkoglu
jj reddick

it's almost an acknowledgement from coach brown that he has no backcourt players who are quick enough to handle rafer alston.

i hate concessions. like automatically double teaming kareem abdul jabbar in the post without testing single coverage first.

The coach has to realise this, They don't need to double team anybody on the magic, whoever is Covering dwight has to accept he'll put up good numbers. stick with your man, switch on pick and rolls, no help defense. That should cut down the 3 point shooting.. magic set a nba record of 23/32 three point shots against sacramento in a game during the regular season, so if they heat up they can go wild. don't give them a chance to get going.

wtf is wrong with mo williams?

and why isnt sasha in? he played well last game

Mo Williams is MIA... I mean.. there is a difference between not playing well and then hurting your team. He's shooting horribly from the field and can't guard anyway. Who is going to step up for the Cavs besides Lebron?

PG play is definitely NOT the feature attraction in this series.

rafer alson 3 TOs already, delonte west 4 TOs already.

:puke:

Great strategy...Especially when you can foul Howard if he gets deep in the paint. He's not a good foul shooter so I'd put him on the line.

Exactly. Just pick your poison.. do you want to deal with multiple players floating around at the 3 point line or do you just play Howard straight? and just deal with the fact that he is going to get his buckets but also..foul his ass and make him make free throws...better to have one person getting his than 3-4 cats raining 3s all game.

Dwight was in, so they should just switch West on Skip and go man.

That being said, the Cavs are real lucky they aren't getting blown the fuck out.

Exactly man. Ok.. the shot is not falling

i understand that he wants to shoot himself out of this streak. i understand he's anxious to contribute for the cavaliers.

but he has to ask himself if 3 long balls in Q1 is really the best way to accomplish those things. penetration and getting to the rim can help THE WHOLE TEAM. long balls are a great way to bury your own team (especially when he does a 1-and-done possession).

wow, and Big Z has a very good shot.

10 minutes, NO shots.

so don't be surprised if he's cold when he comes back in either.

cleveland just gave up another 3 on D.

and mo williams just committed another TO.

cavaliers fans are lucky they are only down by 4.

joe smith provided an excellent example of how NOT to close out on a shooter (rashard lewis).

orlando magic on the other hand, is providing NUMEROUS good examples of how to close out on the perimeter.

bye bye dwight howard.
