The Official 2025 And Beyond WNBA Season/Women's Basketball Thread

Big 4 as in 4 qualified starters. Not superstars (accept for Mitchell). :)

See, it's the focus of, "Losing 6 players," that is overhyped IMO.

- Caitlin Clark (starting point guard)
- Sophie Cunningham (backup)
- Chloe Bibby (backup)
- Damaris Dantes (backup)
- Sydney Colson (backup)
- Aari McDonald (backup)

So that's 1 starter and 5 backups (who collectively averaged 6 points a game). Losing your starting point guard is always a big hit. Those other 5 though....

But 3 of those bench players were there from the jump and know the system
McDonald came in and was hooping
You had to acclimate players that weren't even on a team and still made it a few minutes away from the finals against the mvp and multiple gold medalists

The players they brought in were all WNBA vets so more than likely it didn't take long for them to learn the system which is why they were successful in it

I'm bringing up that fever team because the same core players are there and they got the #1 pick
Just to everyone knows...

The same core players in question were Kelsey Mitchell, Aaliyah Boston and Lexie Hull.

Experience heading into 2023:
- Mitchell, 5 years
- Boston, Rookie
- Hull, 1 year

As we can see, 2 of the 3 were super young. Let's add to the fact that the Fever had 7 players on the roster overall with less than 2 years of playing experience.

And finally, they were all lead by Christie Sides, who was in her first year of head coach experience.

Aint hard to tell why the 2023 team wasn't successful. And don't forget that Dallas and Phoenix had a worst record than Indiana in 2023. They got the #1 pick by luck of the lottery.

So steph white did a great job

You be trying to rage bait us so bad. You funny af. I expect nothing less from you Jon Lobo. I bet you was crying on the couch last night.
:roflmao:

Steph White did a good job. She had a very talented roster the entire season, that was strengthened by adding good veterans as the season progressed. Any good coach would succeed with the great talent she had.

I can agree with most of that, but their roles mattered. Specifically Aari… That chocolate glass of milk! And Sophie.

Well said sir...

Also, gotta give kudos to the GM for bringing in damn good players to fill the roster. The additions of Aari McDonald and Odysee Sims were great moves. It's time we have a conversation about Amber Fox being the GM of the Year in the WNBA.
It’s not well said, we all know that because it’s fucking obvious

I wasn't crying lol
They over achieved

Natalie Nakase was already named WNBA Coach of the Year 2025, almost a month ago.

And you tried to call out @pookie saying he doesn’t know basketball.

 :smh:
I was speaking about the accomplishments of the entire year. Being that Coach White coached throughout the year with numerous injuries happening to her team and they were still successful.

Maybe @pookie can assist you with learning to read with a heavy focus on comprehension.

In the future try to add value to the board instead of being a hemorrhoid to everyone's ass.
