since it burned blue and did not immediately explode the glass container, i would say it was the gasses of an element (or 2) that has a low vapor pressure point. whatever it is, it has some oxygen already mixed with it to allow it to burn without exploding that container.
Anything else in its pure form would have blow that glass container to shreds
That was a demonstration that a French Train yard put on to show the effects of implosions.This can happen to any vessel where a vacuum is applied and somebody forgets to open the vent to allow air in while you suck the contents out.
Seen it with a large storage tank more than once.

A prematurely ignited IED. The tank for the most part survived, but what about the troops inside? The armor is the the thinnest and weakest at the bottom of the tank, and plus any blast that lifts a tank like that has to have enough concussive force to kill the soldiers.damn was that a mine or a I.E.D?
