for those that dont know. Most flammables have fumes that are partially if not completely invisible. These fumes can be low lying and around you and you dont know it. All you need is a small source or spark. Something as simple as a piece of metal rubbing as they were moving that vehicle.

Good info. That is why gasoline has its smell right because you can't see the vapors or fumes. Those guys were surrounded in it and didn't even realize it.

gas has that smell cause of things like benzene,hexane and a variety of other chemicals.

now they do add a scent to natural gas because of its more common uses in households. If it wasn't for that...WAY more people would die as a result of natural gas leaks in houses and businesses.

You're right! That is what I could have been thinking of. That like you said, if you have a household gas leak you can smell it, because of what has been added as a safety feature.
