Ty Manseau, a member of Michael Andretti's crew, was run over by Andretti as the driver left the pits during Sunday's Miller Lite 225 FedEx CART series race in West Allis, Wis. The left rear tire of Andretti's car rolled over Manseau's torso and head, which, fortunately, was protected by a helmet.
Manseau, the team's vent man, was examined for possible spinal damage at Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, and released.
1) He knew there was a lot of snow on the roof, I'm guessing that's why he was out there trying to remove it.theres a pretty good chance he didnt survive....and that much falling on your head minus a helmet.....![]()
Good question. Yes NHRA, and other race organizations use the tie downs, I don't know what happened here. All the race engines I see have those straps to keep the heads from blowing off. what happened here?
Yes he was lucky! Another thing that helped him was that the car was light. Formula 1 cars usually weigh less that 1,500 lbs. Even though he sustained minor injuries, it's not how it would be if he got ran over by a Buick Roadmaster.I had to look this one up. he did survive
