The New Mutants were teenaged students of Professor Charles Xavier, much like the original X-Men, who had since grown into adulthood. These students, however, rather resembled the “All-New, All-Different X-Men” in terms of ethnic diversity. The original team consisted of:
Karma (Xi’an Coy Manh), a 19 year-old Vietnamese girl and the team’s original leader, who could mentally possess other people’s bodies.
Cannonball (Samuel Guthrie), a mild-mannered Kentuckian and eventual co-leader after Karma’s “death”, who became nigh-invulnerable when rocketing through the air.
Wolfsbane (Rahne Sinclair), a Scot who could transform into a wolf-like creature.
Psyche (Danielle Moonstar, also called Mirage and Moonstar), a Cheyenne and eventual co-leader after Karma’s “death”, who could create visual empathic three-dimensional illusions.
Sunspot (Roberto da Costa), a Brazilian who gained superhuman strength fueled by sunlight and could store solar energy in his body to use his super strength during the night.
The team debuted in Marvel Graphic Novel #4 (1982), which continued a plotline from Uncanny X-Men. The group was formed by Professor X when he was under the control of the menacing alien race the Brood. The youths were intended to be hosts for Brood embryos, but the X-Men returned and set matters straight. The five youngsters remained at Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters to learn to control their powers.

My brother gave me this wholes seires at the time(up to issue 40), and a bunch old worn out X-Men from the 70-80's.

This was a well written series.

Yo props man used to love this shit too bad it's Hotfile links

good shit. new mutants were awesome cause they had issues. they tried recreated that magic with xmen academy and some other young mutants but its not the same.

i might be in the minority but i also used to like x-calibur and the new defenders.

Excalibur was cool @ 1st...I had been reading a few comics feat. Captain Britain from since the early 80s...so it was cool when they used him years later heavily in an "X" book

This reminds me of that X-Men Annual when the X-Men and The New Mutants first went to Asgard. Does anybody have that? I can't remember the name, but the art was by Paul Smith, writing by Chris Claremont. It was a very ill moral dilemma because Loki gave every non-mutant/powered person magic and promised to give this gift to the world, but the trick (as were all things with Loki), was that should this gift be accepted (cured all diseases, eliminated strife, etc), the price would be the immediate death of all magic-based characters. This was the power source from which the gift was derived. Characters like Snowbird and Shaman were immediately affected, with more to follow.

This gigantic question split the team down the middle with some members of Alpha Flight and The X-Men teaming against their brothers. Bendis, ironically, paid homage to this same beat during the House of M when he had the heroes forced to decide on the fate of Wanda Maximoff.

Anyway, probably one of the best and most influential comics during my childhood. Would love to read it again...without the corny second part where Art Adams came in and made everything so goofy...

I gave up on xcalibur midway through that cross time caper bullshit. That shit was so long and irritating and the artwork changed on it like 50 times. I was thoroughly ticked.

That's exactly when I dropped out. I liked the doppelganger Nazi version and thought they would get back to that but I gave up.

I have the collected books. But it's too big for me to upload and my other account is being a dick. How do i split up into zip files? I don't see an option to split.
