Let's rewind the last time these two meet in the super Bowl.........Ah the good old times!!!!!!:D:D:D:D

Jan. 2005: Freddie Mitchell, Eagles

In the lead-up to Super Bowl XXXIX, Eagles wide receiver Freddie Mitchell dismissed the Patriots’ defensive backs, infamously saying he only knew their numbers (and not their names). New England had managed a return trip to the Super Bowl without starting cornerbacks Ty Law or Tyrone Poole, yet Mitchell – an underachieving first round pick – didn’t value them enough to apparently learn their names.

Result: Patriots 24, Eagles 21. Mitchell was limited to just one catch for 11 yards (which proved the last catch of his NFL career). In the postgame, an unusually candid Belichick had the last word.

“All he does is talk,” said Belichick following the Patriots’ third Super Bowl win. “He’s terrible, and you can print that. I was happy when he was in the game.”

:lol::lol::lol::roflmao:I remember that

I got the Patriots winning 28-17. I see the media back on that “Patriots got drama between coach, QB and owner again. They actually want us to believe that Belichick was gonna sit down Brady, a defending Super Bowl winning QB who was in the MVP this season and now is guaranteed to win MVP, for a unproven, and still unproven in my opinion, Jimmy Garopolo

Both teams have THE WORST fans! Fucking obnoxious and rude!

However, I hate the Eagles less. I never really hated the Eagles, I just don’t care for the fans. I’ve lived in Philly proper and suburbs now for 7yrs.

When Philly teams are winning they are super arrogant. When they are losing they are super angry and bullies.

Patriots fans I dealt with in undergrad. Hard to say this, but they are a magnitude worse than Eagles/Philly fans. I hate the Patriots and all fans associated with New England and Boston teams.

Celtics are the exception when they had Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen and Ant Walker.

Other than that the whole of Boston can fall into the sea. Since they rarely lose they don’t know how to be anything but sore losers.

Go Eagles... :hmm:

IF YOU ARE NICK FOLES AND LEAD THE EAGLES TO A RING....HE HAS A TWO YEAR CONTRACT...HOW DOES THAT CHANGE THE DYNAMIC??? OR CAN IT?

how does a superbowl winning QB go back to the bench next season??

IF YOU'RE MANAGMENT DO YOU KEEP FOLES OR DO YOU NOW HAVE A SWEET TRADE CHIP?

It changes shit. He's still Nick Foles. He goes right back to the bench and shuts up. Win or lose

I don't know about that..foles has had some career games and set records in a eagles uniform.. this dude is a proven product and he ain't lucking up on shit. IF he leads them to a ring thats more than wentz has done between the two... I don't know if I'd quietly go back to the bench with a ring on my finger.

What career games? If he's a proven product, why did the eagles get rid of him before, then the Rams, Then the Chiefs....?

Are you trolling Geech?

Ask Trent Dilfer how that ring helped him out. Signed a deal with Seattle to be Hasslebacks back up the year after winning a Superbowl.

this the best eagles team i've seen since mcnaab and to. both sides od the ball fast. if jackonsville can put up 20 on the pats i know the eagles can put 28-31 and not sputter in the second half. i gotta go with the eagles ....31-21

My only concern is can Foles have two good games in a row. I don't think he has since he became the starter.

Nick Foles' contract would make him a free agent if he's on the Eagles in February 2019

Nick Foles is in the middle of one of the most surreal Super Bowl runs in recent memory. He came on as a full-time starter in Week 15 after Carson Wentz was injured for the season, and since then he's won four of five games, the only loss coming in a meaningless Week 17 matchup. However, there's no illusion in Philadelphia: Wentz is starting next year, and there's an expiration date on Foles' time with the Eagles.

Foles signed a five-year contract with the Eagles, but it had one major caveat. If he is on the Eagles' roster come February 2019, the final three years of the deal will automatically be voided and he'll become a free agent. Voiding contracts aren't entirely uncommon; this one almost guarantees that Foles will be traded by February 2019.

Ironically, Wentz's injury is enormously beneficial for the Eagles in this respect. Foles has dramatically increased his stock in the past five games, and after shredding the Vikings' defense the way he did it's only going up. He's now a much more valued trade prospect, and a team getting 3-4 years out of Foles at this level would be well worth a deal. Of course, Foles would need to stay at this level.

The league is reactionary to quarterback play. Matt Flynn got a big contract out of one great game, Joe Flacco got a big deal out of an admittedly historic playoff run, and now the Eagles might net a nice prize for Foles. People can debate all they want about how responsible Foles is for this run, but quarterbacks get the spoils. It's the only part of an NFL team outside of head coach that wins and losses get assigned to, fairly or unfairly.

The Eagles worked the contract this way to prorate Foles' $3 million signing bonus over a five-year span, reducing his cap hit. It also allowed Foles to not have to worry about riding the bench until Wentz gets hurt. The total value of the deal was $27.5 million over five years. Over the next three years of the deal, Foles' contract would be worth $5.5 million per year, plus the $600,000 signing bonus.

Although some teams may dismiss this as a flash-in-the-pan run, some QB-needy team may still jump at the chance to lock Foles up at that price. He's also proven that he's a perfectly serviceable nuclear option if a starter goes down, if a team decides to go that route.

Either way, the Eagles may decide to keep Foles as a backup for the 2018 season, depending on how much faith they have in Wentz staying healthy (and depending on how their offseason goes in restocking for another Super Bowl run). But if a team is heavily affected by Foles' performance in these playoffs, there's a good chance we'll hear about the Eagles fielding offers sooner rather than later to reward Foles for his resurgence.

Has anyone picking the Patriots watch any of the Eagles games? Their defense is stifling and very opportunistic. The Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz is a General. They keep coming after the QB and don't stop with just the front four. The offense which is even scarier is just starting to get in a groove and get their timing down with the passing game. Their O Line is very underrated. You have four minds in Philly that have all played QB in the NFL. (Pederson, Difilipo, Reich and Wentz) all setting and designing a game plan that Foles can execute. The design, the playcalling and the flow through out the course of the game is all QB friendly. The running game is hitting their stride with a great rotation so no one is worn down by the end of the game. The best trio of Tight Ends in the game.

Plus the there are only two free agents after this year Blount and Bradham (back up running back and back up middle linebacker.) Next year we will have returning All pro left tackle, Darren Sproles, Wentz, Jordan Hicks, Sidney Rice fully healthy. It's going to be great for Philly for a couple of years.

Prediction. 31-17. Eagles (No team is going to put 30+points on this defense.)

Once shit gets real for Foles...fuck a game plan. Go ask Blake Bortles

Foles faced the No. 1 defense in the league. Bortles had one of the best games of his career. TB and Amendola made a great play.
