Can't be mad at them when I got married back in 93 spent a little under 5k that included the honeymoon my brother got married last month and spent 30k+ and that was with cutting a lot of corners. My mom said things were a lot easier back when I got married due to when people got married it was a community as well as a family event so everyone helped. Didn't need wedding planners when you had grandma and her OG's

They obviously did this because they didn't have the money. It's not like they were being cheap on purpose. Some people can't even afford weddings and can only go down to the courthouse. At least they did this. Everything doesn't have to be fancy and up to par. Especially if you super low income. Let them live. They not supposed to have a wedding because they broke? Weddings are expensive typically oh, and by saving money on the wedding they can use that money toward either the honeymoon or something more important like a house
