The karma for beating up women finally smacks Dr. Dre - Dr. Dre ordered to pay ex-wife Nicole Young $3.5M a year in spousal support

DR. DRE PAYS $100 MIL TO NIKKI YOUNG DIVORCE SETTLEMENT

Dr. Dre has settled his divorce case by striking a property settlement agreement with his ex-wife, and for Dre's part, we're told he's "delighted" Nicole Young is only getting a fraction of his estate.
Dre and Nicole just filed their property settlement agreement, in which Dre agreed to pay Young $100 million -- $50 mil now, and $50 mil a year from now. Dre's estimated net worth is $820 million.
As for why Nicole didn't get half ... there's a prenup which she contested.

In exchange, Dre gets to keep 7 of the properties they own, including a Malibu home, 2 homes in Calabasas, and 4 properties in the L.A. area, including the $100 million Brentwood estate.
In addition, Dre gets full rights to his master recordings, trademarks and interests in various partnerships and trusts. He also keeps all of their Apple stocks, which includes the proceeds from the sale of Beats by Dre.

They divide a fleet of vehicles -- he gets 6 and she gets 4.
She gets to keep jewelry, cash and bank accounts that she had maintained during the marriage.
Nicole must pay her own legal fees ... which amount to millions of dollars.

Sources connected to Dre say Nicole could have actually gotten a bigger piece of the pie had she settled a year ago. One of those sources said, "She could have even been on the field for the Super Bowl halftime show as a friendly ex-wife."
There are also some storage lockers filled with items from their various homes. Dre had put the items in storage, and according to the settlement she gets to keep all the stuff inside that was hers.
The settlement forecloses Young's ability to get spousal support ... something that was hotly contested during the divorce.

Dre and Young are already divorced, per his lawyer, Laura Wasser, whose M.O. it is to file to end a contentious marriage and leave money matters for later.

Well looks like he only had to pony up 2.5 million, like it was said she was still rich anyway.

Bro when a person really wants to go, they go. Like my ex wife. She was like let’s do it down the middle and talk. I said cool, we split it but she didn’t get ‘my’ shit I worked on. My retirement, stocks etc. Dre bitch was greedy, she got no huge payout or settlement like Deniro, Babyface etc. ol hoe

from my understanding after 10 years assets in the marriage become community property.

tom cruise been married about 3 times and in 2 of them (mimi rogers and nicole kidman) he filed for divorce in the 9th year. :giggle:
Depends on the state but in CA shit is community property when the community earns it, which is as soon as you get married. That said, most folks with means contract out of community property law, so when they do that anything goes within the bounds of contact law.

What was the pre nup agreement, and why wasn't it honored?
It was. A prenup doesn’t mean she gets nothing. Ideally it’s what he wants her to get. $100 million seems more than fair based on his net worth. She’s not gonna get a potential forever bag through spousal support. It’s literally less than 1/8 of his fortune and she has no ownership of his trademarks. One and done. I hope he wilds out next year.

This is gonna sound like a dumb question, but what is the science behind a woman getting 1/2 of your retirement? I consider divorce sometime, BUT I gotta nice VA check to worry about losing. Are there cases where a woman sued for it and DOESN’T get it? And I’m in Va.

I understand that but she contested it and he had to support her while it was being worked out. Why wasn't it honored at the filing of the divorce.

I think she claimed he had ripped up the prenup, I could be mistaken but I believe that was the reason.

Hell she got a 100 million, no way she would of made that if she never married Dre.

I'm a Vet also. And I believe as long as you divorce before 10 years of marriage she doesn't get anything. But at 10 they get a percentage don't believe it's half though

You answered you’re own question. That’s all it takes until it’s resolved.
Lawyer A: Your Honor, my client informs me that the contract is invalid, it was destroyed right in front of her.

Lawyer B: Here's the contract right here your Honor.

Dre's lawyer is amazing. That is a great deal for him. 100 million for some pussy, is just crazy.

I’m sure that happened, but doesn’t stop the ability to argue it drag the proceedings out. Divorce court ain’t the same. Until things are settled the judge has the ability to grant spousal support in the interim.

PS: Remember you can commit a crime and it’s on video with a confession and still go to court and have trial because that what court affords you. Think Juicy Smollet.

I don't get that I really don't, no lawyer tricks can change the fact that I'm holding a contract she said I destroyed.

Judge: Counselor is this your client's signature?

Lawyer A: Yes, your Honor.

Judge: Case closed the prenup stands.

That’s the thing though we don’t know what the provisions of the pre-nup were. People too often think a pre-nup means the other party gets nothing and that’s that. It has to be carefully written and if something isn’t spelled out then it can be argued. To me it sounds like the main provisions were met here. Which was probably no spousal support and he keeps all his intellectual property from his music career and probably future earnings related to that. Outside of that her lawyers were probably arguing everything down to the animals.

That I get, I just didn't understand the prenup no longer exists defense. Prenups have to be somewhat fair, especially for a marriage as long as theirs. When Kaley Cuocco got divorced after less than two years, dude didn't get any of her Big Bang money.
