The only thing which will improve our present condition is the taming of our fear. We must act on courage. Courage to think differently, speak loudly, and challenge directly the systems which we know to be unjust. Voting will do precious little to circumvent the politics of fear which Democrats and Republicans use to justify their attacks on our personal liberties.

The 1994 crime bill did create incentives ("$8.7 billion for prison construction for states that enacted truth-in-sentencing") for states to build prisons and increase sentences, and thereby contributed to increased incarceration.The bill provided funding for tens of thousands of community police officers and drug courts, banned certain assault weapons, and mandated life sentences for criminals convicted of a violent felony after two or more prior convictions, including drug crimes. The mandated life sentences were known as the “three-strikes” provision.
She's FIRMLY on the side of Palestine and human rights in general. As is her Vice President. In particular, she wants to cut off aid to Israel, unless they start acting in accordance with International Human Rights Law.

Man, a lot of y'all be on some serious misinformation. Fox, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, Headline News, John Oliver, Bill Maher, Trevor Noah = all in the same boat (backed by 6, Billion dollar corporations) and NOT your friend. Just look how well they've covered DAPL, How they've blacked out Stein/Baraka aside from the occasional BS smear, and how they've laser focused on Trump; giving him enough free media to increase his popularity and bring out the racists.

The duopoly is designed against this. They've attempted to block third parties in almost every way. The only way to bring yourself to national prominence as a 3rd party is to start off filthy rich, or have filthy rich backers. Aside from this, the only pathway is through earning federal funds, and automatic ballot access. The ONLY WAY THIS HAPPENS is by getting 5% or more of the Presidential Vote.
That's the bare minimum that we are shooting for this election and it would be great if any of y'all brothers could help us out.

I guess you're ready for war with Russia, for people of color to keep being gunned down in the street, for another economic crash, for the privatization and eventual elimination of Social Security, and for the environment to keep dying and the Earth to become darn near uninhabitable in the latter half of this century.
That would also mean that you had little problem with the DNC stealing the nomination from Bernie, and coercing the media to legitimize Trump as the only Republican candidate that Hillary could actually beat.

That's what she claims, and she can be against the state of Israel as much as she wants to be, but as many Jews whether Reformed, Reconstructionist, Sephardic, Ashkenazi, Hasidic or whomever will tell you, "we're here for the connections." She can have her opinion on the state of Israel as do many Jews who oppose it, but at the end of the day, they NEVER turn their back on their own and their culture.

Really wish I had seen this thread earlier. I would have been able to put y'all up on some knowledge so you could make a good decision. Unfortunately I was pounding the pavement for the Green Party in real life and haven't been on BGOL much in the last six months.
Yes i'm leaning toward Stein and looking up the Green Party platform and this 5% requirement for campaign funding now.
Will vote for House/Senate and any ballot questions that I understand/research properly
To at least start building alternatives to the current two party system.
A third party wins a substantial number of votes that increases their ability to fund raise and to recruit candidates and to get their message out.
Sure they may not have a chance to win this year, but you have to start building sometime

As to wasting a vote.. Why vote for a candidate that can win but won't do you thing to address your interests ? Isn't that also a waste ?
And that lesser of two evils is some hot shit......evil is evil....
That's the game. Don't try to grab the top seat without trying to do the local work.
