I have lived in this city since 1999. At the time, I was in corporate America and not privy to the street life here in the city then as I am now. I lived in Gwinnett when the Mexican gangs were just getting their foothold in the city.
I have been clubbin', loungin', and strip clubbin' since 2000. I'm no boss, but I've seen my share of balling. The Shark Bare, Visions, 112, The Compound to Stroker's, Dancer's Elite, Folly's,and Shooter's Alley.
There is a local street paper here called Creative Loafing. We here, nickname it Da Loaf. There is a weekly feature called the Blotter. This basically chronicles police happenings in the city where law enforcement intervenes. I read this paper and this section for about 7 years straight.
I say all of this to say, that from my personal experience, my personal involvement with a certain promoter, one person removed retellings, and reading of the Blotter. I am very, very slow to dis. However, I could have came up with a better "full story" documentary of BMF than this. The producers/writers had plenty of time to review other documentaries made for movies, made for tv, and made for dvd to come of with something better than this.
It doesn't even scratch the surface for something that "never will be done again".
To the OP, I am truly appreciative for the drop.

To be honest, I'm confused as to why a classic hood documentary or street DVD hasnt come out yet. Their rise and fall is an interesting story and with the police state that we now live in I honestly dont think hood cats will be able to do it that big in that game ever again.
