Whoaa...Good looking out.
Yeah, I went to a con once and some dude still had his books in the plastic with the cards from the 90's...That shit was older looking then my Thor #3 that I was selling. Cat got tight. Everyone around him, including me, broke it down to him.
The best way is to use Mylar plastics with Mylar coated boards. Thing is you need to change them every 5 to 6 years.
Personally, I got rid of my entire collection of comics we talking about 32 boxes with 300 books each. I kept only some very old classic books from the 30's to 60's. Those are in 'Lock Boxes' plastics. The rest of my books are either in TPB format on my shelves or digital.
Also, comics are not worth as much as they use to be and outside of classic books from the era I stated above you probably won't be getting much for all of your effort and time storing the books.
I just liked having my kids read the same stories I read. Outside of that books get donated to recoup some money during tax season. If a book does go up in value...you have to sell it fast. Holding on to shit just does not work any more.
The collectors of the golden age are literally dying, once that generation is completely gone the comic market is going to fall through one more big crash. Many vendors with a lot over overstock will be forced out and only 'multi-media' comics stores will be around...and they don't buy back SHIT.
