When I had a toothache, that Ibuprofen would take forever to kick in, plus it would make the pain spike very briefly. I started drinking Theraflu for the pain, which contains acetaminophen. It always worked almost immediately.

Is it? It looks like a marketing plan to me.

It is. A lot of people don't know that Naproxen and Ibuprofen help with joint pain/Arthritis/Swelling......they'll sit there popping Tylenol & Aspirin all day wondering why the shit doesn't work for their particular need and end up putting more and more into their system...which is of course dangerous.

Crazy cause I had a sore throat last night and was taking Tylenol for it with very little results.

Popped in 2 ibuprofen though and the pain was instantly gone.

Kudos on this thread bruh.

:smh:i was taking ibuprofen kind of regularly a couple of years ago then I stopped because that shit stopped working. So if have some kind of pain now I just go to sleep. And hope like hell I feel better when I wake up.

its powder. nothing to do with the drug itself. In pharmacodynamics, and drug or chemical has to be in solution form for the body to use it. A pill is the farthest away from solution than other routes. So if you had theraflu made with ibuprofen, it would kick in as quick because the body dont have to break it down to a solution

so Tylenol doesn't treat a fever??????
it is showing which one is BEST for each. and no, tyelenol is not as good antipiretic as ibuprofen. They just tell you not to give it to babies because their system cannot turn it to metabolite effectively like older kids and adults

I chomp on raw garlic till the burn numbs the pain away.

depends on the individual.

My doctor told me to only take Acetaminophen for the rest of my life because the other over the counter analgesics like aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen are blood thinners. I almost died from them because they had my colon bleeding so bad that they were going to cut almost half my colon out. After I told the surgeon I was taking two Advils/Aleves for my torn rotator cuff every morning before work they stopped the surgery. I was fine after a few days... I was scared as fuck.
