...but they won't get him for 'chump-change'. They can afford to give Denver two(2) first round choices +. They have to be AGGRESSIVE and BOLD!!! They will be going against the Big Boys. The bottom-line is they have nothing to lose, absolutely nothing. Granted, they won't have an immediate turn-around on the field, but they will gain some respectability.

Cutler has a little 'Bobby Layne' in him...except for the 'drinking binge' characteristic. Like Layne, Cutler is 'headstrong' and has a big arm'. Plus, he's also a winner. The last championship won by NFL Championship won by Detroit was with Bobby Layne at QB. In fact, the last three won by Detroit were engineered by Layne. It was in the '50's. Nobody was around then...it's been that long.. Like Henry Ford 2, once said, "don't complain, don't explain".

Cutler was born in the Midwest....Santa Claus, Indiana..but the Lions will have to offer much more than 'cookies and milk' before Denver agrees to a trade. They can feel Thankful that Cutler does not have a 'no-trade' clause in his contract should they decide to do business with Lions. Cutler would probably try to veto such a deal. But the fans would know that the Lions are trying to 'right' their ship and the 'paper-bags' would be tossed aside.

As it now stands, the Lions need too much help, and are destined to continue as 'doormats' in the NFL for many seasons to come.
But Jay Cutler would help 'reduce' the 'doormat' status.

They need to be AGGRESSIVE and BOLD /B]and make a move!!

Have to respectfully disagree. Yes, Cutler is a good QB and acquring him is a step in the right direction, but until they address the offensive line, it wouldn't matter if they had Johnny Unitas back there. Don't see any point in going out and paying alot of money and spending high draft picks on a "big name" QB if the OL is just going to get him killed. Then they'll have wasted time and money on yet another in a long line of high draft picks.

Using those draft picks to build a SOLID offensive line instead of wasting it on another skill player is the bold move they need to make. The game is won in the trenches and Detroit has NO horses

Exactly

David Carr could have been a good QB...but all them sacks shell shocked his career

No need to get a quality QB with a shitty ass line and have him running for his life all got damn game

THe Detroit Lions need to see whats up with this mutherfucka right here...

If I were the Detroit GM, I would invest some bread and hire a good OL coach Romeo Crennel as my DL coach as well.
