The Daily Show Just Roasted Trump With A Trailer For ‘COVFEFE: Based On A True Typo’

Trevor Noah and the Daily Show have taken Covfefe jokes to a new level with this spoof tailer for the faux movie “Covfefe: Based On A True Typo.” (Video below.)

The story centers on an African orphan, named Covfefe (played by Noah) who is saddened because he does not know the meaning of his name. When he learns of President Trump’s tweet,Covfefe embarks on a quest to learn the truth from him.

On a day in which Trump launched an assault on the planet by pulling out of the Paris climate deal, Noah knows we could all use a laugh, and the Comedy Central host provides.

Feel free to watch it more than once before returning to reality, but don’t take too long. We’ve got a planet to heal, and today, we learned without question that we will not get any help from the President of the United States. We are going to need all hands on deck.

For now, enjoy:

Now Trump says ‘covfefe’ might have ‘deep meaning’

And down the stretch comes … Covfefe!

A thoroughbred named after President Trump’s confounding neologism that stumped the internet came home a winner Saturday at the Breeders’ Cup at Santa Anita Park in Southern California.

“A horse named ‘Covfefe’ won a Breeder’s Cup event at Santa Anita today. Named after President Trump’s famous mistweet, she has now won six of her first eight races,” according to a tweet from the Daily Caller that Fox Business contributor Mitch Roschelle posted.

“Great! But how do you know it was a ‘mistweet?’ May be something with deep meaning!” Trump tweeted in a cryptic response Monday morning.

The 3-year-old filly won the $1 million Filly & Mare Sprint by three-quarters of a length under jockey Joel Rosario, according to Fox News.

On May 31, 2017, the president sent social media into a frenzy with the tweet that launched countless memes.

“Despite the constant negative press covfefe,” he posted in the tweet, which he later deleted. Hours later, he asked his followers: “Who can figure out the true meaning of ‘covfefe’ ???”

Then-White House press secretary Sean Spicer did not admit that “covfefe” was a typo when asked by reporters.

“The president and a small group of people know exactly” what the tweet meant, he said with a straight face, prompting laughter from the press corps.

Jamie Roth, who runs the LNJ Foxwoods stable, decided to harness all the attention on the strange word to name the horse she co-owns.

“We gave the name to her because we thought she was special and we thought the name was kind of funny,” Roth told USA Today.

Covfefe even has her own Twitter account titled “RealCovfefeRacehorse.

“The Greatest #CovfefeHunt In American History!” the account tweeted Thursday, poking fun at Trump’s oft-repeated “witch hunt” label for the impeachment inquiry.

Roth, whose horse has won five of her seven races, told USA Today that she hasn’t heard from the White House and tries not to get too political.

“He’s not for me, but obviously he is for some other people,” she said of Trump. “He just doesn’t stand for the things that I believe it. But I believe in Covfefe.’’
