Has anybody else check this shit out???

One of the most interesting things i've read in weeks. Its like a full blown fiction novel. I read it all non stop.. its crazy, I wonder if its all true. But now i know why Chappelle looked shook.. he tried to play wit the big boys and got fucked up... :smh:

i don't see how anybody can say this shit aint true when the nigga QUIT EVERYTHING!

He's been touring virtually non-stop since he quit that show.
You know.. he is a stand-up comedian.

....and tell me you guys know that this website is a joke, right?
The "Dark Crusaders".....?

I'm not buying this shit at all... a black cabal against negative stereotypes of blacks stopped his show?.. YET..ROBERT JOHNSON is apart of the group...who just happens to be one of the biggest offenders...

Dude had a serious nigga moment. He realized that he was taking shit too far and broke down. A moment of clarity.

I never liked the show. He had some comical skits, the few that I've seen, but his show went too far.

I'm glad it came to an end.

well how da hell am i supposed to know that? i haven't heard jack shit about him since. how do you know?

I know because I read the paper and listen to people talk.
He's been in DC like three times since 2005.

And has done a bunch of small shows in LA.
He broke a record at the Laugh Factory in '07 with a 6 hour standup.

He's been doin stand up since he git back from Africa.
I even got a bootleg of him doin stand-up while the Lost Episodes was airing.
Nigga said it was like watching the Cosby Show starring Rudy and Vanessa.

I don't have a secret. I've just been paying attention to shit.

Johnson can lie to himself by saying he didn't have a direct creative influence on those shows...who knows...I don't think the guy who made the site has any real insight into what happened but I don't think Dave stopped on his own accord...

On the real though....I've seen Chappelle twice since he quit the show. Like the other poster said he tours often. And the kicker is the shows basically sell out everytime.

Ah jeez...

That "theory" (and website) was a SATIRE created by his writing staff. They obviously knew that the usual conspiracy-minded fools would buy into all that nonsense without thinking.

well he's a proven standup comic so i'm not surprised his shows sell out. it's just that he has zero media fanfare anymore compared to being on tv everyday when he was doing the show. i haven't seen a dvd or anything of him doing any recent standup performances. that laugh factory show had to be a classic. it's obvious that he is blackballed from the movie side of things.

 right. so obvious.

it was a good show. he mixed street comedy with intellectual edge to it. It was well done, well written.Anyone that thinks it is purely crap and or went it to far is wrong. Also, he invited some cool rappers on the show like Talib , Mos def...

i swear you are retarded... where does "i wonder if its true" equate to "this is fact, i believe it..."

I doubt he got blackballed. He walked away from a show. That's it. Companies walk away from shows all the time in their best interests. He did what he thought was in his best interest.

If you walk away from a 50 million dollar deal over the ethics of the product, I doubt you're going to turn around a go back into hollywood immediately. In a lot of his interviews towards the end and even after he'd always talk about what Hollywood does to people. He always mentioned Mariah Carey and, if I remember correctly, the infamous Martin Lawrence incident where he was playing in traffic. So I'm pretty sure that's part of the reason. And then he's gotten so big, he can't play sidekick roles anymore (Blue Streak, You got Mail, etc.). And the last time I checked the "Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins" movies aren't appealing either.

Doing comedy tours, kicking it with his kids, and following the political landscape (CNN showed him in the crowd during the South Carolina debates) may be all he wants to do for now......

cosign

Seinfeld walked away from about a 400 million dollar offer(one more year and then syndication) from NBC to keep his show running...

You mean "too far?"

Nigga the show was wack. Successful but pure wackness.

I'm not saying the show wasn't funny because obviously it was.

But he was cooning his ass off. He realized that. And that's why he had a break down.

The minstrel show is over. And good.

Chapelle fellas money perhaps change people around him and more pressure to be "funny" and it was like after 2 seasons I believe so the next 4 or 5 seasons will add more pressure and intensity.

Cooning is not the Chapelle show. His show gave exposure to Erykah Badu and others . How many times do artists perform prime time besides rap shows?

He is treet comeic with intellectual edge.

Totally disagree, Chappelle show actually made tv worthwhile, his skits were way ahead of his time...

Dave said straight up, that he couldnt do what he wanted, and that if he took the fifty million he would have lost creative control, he saw that shyt coming a mile away,

he also knew he didnt need the money, the dvd from the show broke major records hell he almost got his fifty mill, those shyts are still selling......

I think his type of comedy goes over a lot of folks heads, they take him too literally and rarily see the sarcasm in his skits....

I hope he does something similiar with an hbo or showtime......

He is one of the best out now along with eddie griffith. fuck a dane cook, although he was good in that movie with kevin what the fuck is his name that waterworld mahfucka.

damn I am zooted!

anyone who saw him on Oprah has to admit that he seemed very uncomfortable and spoke very cryptically about stuff. Even Oprah talked about helping him get things straight with the network why would she need to help him get shit straight.

The Chappelle show was comedic genius, I can't recall any skit show ever being that consistently funny. Not snl, in living color, flip wilson nothing.

I thought the show never went too far I thought alot of time he was making fun at the ridiculousness of some shit sorta laughing at people watching for thinking those things were relevant in the 1st place.

Like Rkelly skit when he peed on people in the courtroom.

I don't think Hollywood has any problem blackballing people Mel Gibson's ass is the ultimate cash cow but he's not done a whole lotta nothing once he dissed them damn Jews.

He has to make shit with his own money and probably distribute shit as well.

I just think Chappelle is unproven in the area of film and is no lock to bring in movie goers. TV is one thing so he may not have found the right vehicle for a movie yet.

The show wasn't wack but yeah it went too far into cooning and thats why he quit.

He made the right decision, he's touring now making money anyway. I saw him do a show at about fucking 3 AM after a Badu concert (dude was walking around with a backpack on there) and let me say dude is BANANAS in person. He's one of the comedy greats without a doubt.
