Can we start a serious discussion on how inadvertently brilliant and terribly racist this film was?...:hmm:

closet rae dawn came to a love interest with a black man in a movie

But really, how times haven't changed...

This was one of my favorite movies growing up (I'm talking like 1st grade). In my teen years, I used to wonder why I could never find this movie on TV, for years. Ten when I finally saw it again in college, I realized why it never re-aired:smh:

A comedy with heart and soul.

He Didn't Give Up,

Mark needs a scholarship to get into Harvard. There's one more available for a black student. The problem is Mark's not black... Yet.

the butler at the 2:26 mark........the look he gives dude like 'u playin yaself mutha fuka'

like he just has NO respect for dude. but yeah, that movie was stereotypical as fuk. but 20 years from now a white dude gonna make a thread on wgol about how racist the wayans bros 'white girls' was

I havent watched this movie as an adult so my memories are from the perspective of a kid. But you guys do know that the movie was more about the stereotypes and prejudices held by whites as opposed to reenforcing and validating negative stereotypes against blacks right?

Maybe thats what slam means by his title but it seems like some consider the flick to be a racists interpretation and presentation of black life.

damn, havent seen this shit in years. i still remember the basketball scene. the 2 coaches were fighting to have dude on their team
