The guy is nuts. You don't have to pretend. His stories are perfect for this forum.
He's not completely crazy and he's very intelligent. I've heard him spit facts, dates, names off the top of his head and later researched the topics myself to find out that he was mostly on point. But he kills me with his conspiracy theories. He's all over the place like he has ADD (not saying that he does), but he's very charismatic and entertaining.
I believe Dick Gregory says conspiracy stuff just so he's not targeted.

Brother Gregory is a genius and he's forgotten more than most of us knows. I believe the ramblings are purposeful to keep most of uninformed off balance. Y'all gotta remember, if you speak too freely on public media, they silence you. He speaks on some powerful subjects. This has always been a thought of mine when listening to him say wild shit. You have to think, a large amount of people he knew who spoke truth to power are in the ground and he understands the evil of the powers that be. Drop some jewels and add in some off the wall stuff to keep the dogs off the scent.
