THE BODEGA IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED DOWN!!! #justiceforjunior

When u see street shit like that, you keep your distance. Because for 1, you dont know what people are involved in. Even the person being attacked. people wanted that store closed because of sheer emotions. Most of them wouldve kept their distance as well. And called the police after it was over.

People who lack compassion attacking someone because of their lack of compassion is bs, imho.

human decency isn't a duty.
i feel you on that 100% but it isnt a prerequisit required to be met on any application required to do business. The extra foul shit in that mix is that NONE of the people involved in the exicution of the shut down dont lift a finger to have police officers who shoot unarmed black & latino men, women, & children.......... so now STORE OWNERS have more of a legal/moral/ethical responsibility to the community than the piglice officers??????

If thats the case then that makes the shut down beyond fucked up!!!! The CITY & The OFFICIALS involved as well as their supporters are beyond fucked up!

How Paterson police got the tip about Trinitarios suspects in “Junior” murder
POSTED 9:54 PM, JULY 1, 2018, BY MARY MURPHY, UPDATED AT 10:07PM, JULY 1, 2018

PATERSON, NJ — It was a hot Sunday afternoon, a week ago, when a 911 call got patched into the Paterson, New Jersey police department.

The caller said the Trinitarios gang members wanted for hacking a Bronx teen to death could be found at a hideout at 260 East 24th Street in Paterson.

“Every available police car was sent to the house within ten minutes,” a law enforcement source told PIX11 News. “One occupant of the house jumped out a window, but he was quickly apprehended.”

Paterson police picked up six suspects that they recognized from BOLO posters (acronym for “Be On the Lookout”) that were prepared by NYPD Detectives.

Charges filed against 6 men extradited from NJ in Bronx teen murder

The only Paterson resident they grabbed was Jose “Canelito” Muniz, who’s accused of assaulting 15-year-old Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz with a machete on June 20 outside a Bronx bodega at Bathgate Avenue and East 183rd Street. Other suspects are charged with using knives to stab Junior, with the lethal wound going to his neck.

“Junior”—who had participated in an NYPD Explorers program for youth interested in law enforcement careers—was seen on video desperately trying to escape from his pursuers by jumping over the bodega’s counter. Multiple men who marched angrily into the store dragged Junior outside and attacked him with knives and the machete. The teen stumbled back into the store, but some men inside directed him to leave. Junior headed toward a nearby hospital and died on the sidewalk outside St. Barnabas Medical Center.

It turns out the suspects didn’t bring any weapons to Paterson.

“I think it was a tactical move on their part not to have anything illegal in their possession while they were hiding out,” the police source said.

Police didn’t have to bang down the door, but the suspects didn’t go so easily.

“They were very nasty, arrogant and belligerent when they were cuffed and verbally abusive to the arresting officers,” the source said.

The source said there’s a growing Dominican gang community in Paterson that’s moving there directly from the Bronx, New York.

The Trinitarios are Dominican gang members that essentially have two groups in Paterson: Union Avenue Trinitarios and Market Street Trinitarios, who operate not far from Paterson’s East Side High School.

The source said Trinitarios gang activity revolves around the drug trade.

The source said it can be difficult to develop intelligence information about the gang.

“It’s almost like Chinese organized crime,” the law enforcement veteran said. “It’s very hard to get information about them.”

Yet it’s not impossible.

The NYPD said it was helped enormously by social media and tips in Junior’s murder case.

The man suspected of ordering the botched hit on an innocent Bronx teen has been arrested, police sources said Tuesday.

Officials identified the suspect as 29-year-old Diego Suero of The Bronx. Police are charging him with murder, manslaughter, gang assault, conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon, officials said.

A second man also was rounded up and is in custody and being questioned in the case, sources said.

Eight men were arrested in the murder last week.

Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz was hacked with a machete and stabbed with a knife June 20 after he was dragged out of a bodega in a case of mistaken identity.

The teen victim was a member of the NYPD Explorers program for aspiring police officers.

Videos caught various stages of the attack, including the teen trying to hide at a bodega, then being dragged out of the store and fighting for his life.

The bodega owner later said he tried to call 911 but that no help was arriving.

Jail population has been reduced at Rikers, so moving them into a separate unit was not an issue.

In a photo obtained exclusively by PIX11 News, Manuel Rivera -- a suspect in the June 20, 2018, killing of 15-year-old Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz in the Bronx -- is seen playing cars in Rikers Island, where he's being held in general population, unlike his fellow suspected gang members who are being held in a jail all to themselves at Rikers.

Eight suspects have been arrested in Guzman-Feliz’s killing.

A jail source told PIX11 News that the men being held at Rikers Island are the “most-watched inmates” in the city right now.

The prisoners have received death threats.

“You have every Latin gang, including the Trinitarios, after them,” the source said. "They brought a lot of heat to the Trinitarios gang, which is why they are making threats against their own right now.”

Every time those four inmates at Rikers need any kind of service, “be it medication, commissary, dentist, medical,” they are escorted by two corrections officers and a captain recording them with a handheld camera.

“The Department of Corrections is making sure they don’t mess this one up and keeping them protected,” a jail source previously told PIX11.

The suspected gang members allegedly chased Guzman-Feliz for blocks the night of June 20. The terrified teen ran so hard that he ran out of his sandals. He tried to take refuge in a bodega near his home, jumping over the counter, but multiple gang members stormed into the deli, punching him and dragging him outside, where Guzman-Feliz was stabbed with knives and the machete.

The teen was seen on camera stumbling back into the deli, seeking help, but he was directed to go to a nearby hospital. The dying boy, with a lethal wound to his neck, bled out on the sidewalk outside St. Barnabas Hospital.

Correction Officers' Benevolent Association President Elias Husamudeen released the following statement about the segregation of the suspects from the general population at Rikers:

“Housing these three dangerous inmates because they pose a serious threat to others proves two points if nothing else. It reaffirms the argument we’ve been making for years. The most effective tool we have in protecting both Correction Officers and inmates from other inmates is punitive segregation. Secondly, this is yet another perfect illustration of the Mayor’s hypocrisy- condemning the use of punitive segregation and claiming in his words, “it’s not the answer,” while actually utilizing the very same tool when it fits his political needs. We have about another 700 (mostly gang members) inmates who should be placed in punitive segregation. What is the Mayor’s plan to deal with them before a Correction Officer loses his or her life?”

The NYPD is hunting an 11th suspect in the brutal gang-related slaying of a Bronx teenager outside a bodega last month.

Cops on Wednesday released photos of a man — his hair pulled into a bun over his head — and two vehicles, and are asking the public’s help finding him.

Police have already arrested 10 suspected Trinitarios gang members in the June 20 murder of 15-year-old Lesandro (Junior) Guzman-Feliz — who was dragged out of the Cruz and Chiky Grocery on E. 183rd St. near Bathgate Ave. in Belmont and butchered with a machete and a knife. The killers later wrote apology notes to Lesandro’s family on Facebook, saying they targeted the wrong teen, authorities said.

Horrific video footage of the attack shows a group of men drag him out of the bodega then descend on him with blades.

The latest suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his early 20s with his hair in a bun, chased Lesandro at some point before the deadly attack, then got into a white four-door sedan heading north on Bathgate Ave, police sources said.

Cops have already identified the white sedan, but are still looking for a second car that sped from the scene — a late 1990s or early 2000s black four-door Acura TL with damage to the rear passenger’s side door.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.

NYPD sources said police are looking to arrest everyone involved in the attack, not just the gang members who weilded the blades.

Police released the photos the same day two alleged gangbangers, Diego Suero, 29, who’s identified as a high-ranking Trinitarios leader, and Gabriel Ramirez Concepcion, 26, were arraigned on murder and other charges in Lesandro’s death.

Lesandro’s killing sent shockwaves through the Bronx, and drew international attention.

His alleged murderers are so reviled that Correction Department officials have scrambled to keep several of them away from their fellow inmates for their own safety, sources said. Three of the suspects were the sole occupants of a 50-unit celt block on Rikers Island and under constant camera surveillance, sources said.

In wake of Junior’s death, state invests $18 million toward gang prevention in the Bronx
POSTED 2:05 PM, JULY 12, 2018, BY KRISTINE GARCIA, UPDATED AT 10:27PM, JULY 12, 2018

In wake of Junior`s death, state invests $18 million toward gang prevention in the Bronx

THE BRONX — New York State will invest $18 million in gang prevention in the wake of the killing of 15-year-old Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz by a group of reputed gang members, state and local officials announced Thursday.

"'Justice for Junior' means that we have to come together — that we have to plan. That we have to get beyond the commentary [and] give our youth the hopes and opportunities so that they never have to find themselves in a situation where they have to join a gang or be a victim to gang violence," Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. said.

The investment in opportunities for Bronx youth and prevent violence comes after Guzman-Feliz was chased, dragged from a bodega and set upon by a gang of men armed with knives and a machete. He suffered a lethal slash wound to his throat and tried to run to a nearby hospital but collapsed and died on the sidewalk the night of June 20.

Members of the Trinitarios gang are accused of mistaking the teen for a rival and ultimately killing him.

Guzman-Feliz's death sparked widespread community outrage and calls to end gang violence.

Diaz Jr. and Gov. Andrew Cuomo talked to a group of community members gathered on Thursday about the pursuit of “justice for Junior” — a rallying cry shared on social media after the teen's death — and put an end to children feeling the need to join gangs.

“The gangs are here to fill a void,” Cuomo said. “Lack of family support, opportunities, jobs, relationships. When you have that void, [joining a gang] feeds that need.”

With this investment, Cuomo hopes to “fill that void before it’s created.”

The state has worked with the Bronx to create a package of aid for Guzman-Feliz's community.

Cuomo said an $18 million investment will be made for programs and services that battle the gang problem from its root.

Included in the investment is $1 million to the Madison Square Boys and Girls Club in the Bronx for a computer lab, to keep the facility open late at night and give children an alternative place to go instead of the streets.

Another $250,000 each will be invested to the Police Athletic League Inc. (PAL) and community-based organizations in schools and in the neighborhood that can help inoculate children from the seduction of gangs and stop gang recruitment.

Mental health programs and counseling in schools will be given an investment of $250,000, and about $5 million will be invested into the Roberto Clemente State Park.

A family resource center that can treat the whole family and provided gang intervention will receive a $2 million investment for more community-based services.

Trinitarios gangbangers slaughtered innocent Bronx teen Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz because they thought he was a rival gang member — not because of his resemblance to someone in a sex tape as investigators previously believed, officials revealed Wednesday.

The news came as NYPD Chief of Detectives Dermot Shea also said the department used its controversial gang database to track down the 12 men indicted in the killing. Officials previously told The Post they did not use the database.

The alleged killers are members of the Trinitarios subset “Los Sures,” which is locked in a war with rival faction “Sunset,” Bronx DA Darcel Clark said at a press conference Wednesday.

“They allegedly drove to the territory of the Sunset group, came upon Junior and chased him into a bodega in the Belmont section, where he tried to hide,” she said.

Then they hacked him to bits with knives and a machete.

Officials stressed Wednesday that Guzman-Feliz had no gang affiliation and was an innocent bystander.

Investigators previously believed he was mistaken for a teen in a sex tape that allegedly depicted a gang leader’s female family member.

But that was a social-media red herring, Clark said.

“There was a lot of social media, and it took a lot of time to sort out a number of those things, but as far as we know at this time, there was no relation to any sex tape to this particular case,” she said.

Shea, meanwhile, admitted the gang database was instrumental in capturing the accused.

“To do it without that criminal group database would really be asking my detectives to fight crime with one eye closed and one hand tied behind their back,” he said.

Twelve men have been arrested in the case. They all face murder charges and life in prison without parole if convicted. All 12 have pleaded not guilty.

Who are the Trinitarios? Experts explain how gang accused of killing ‘Junior’ operates
POSTED 11:11 AM, JULY 18, 2018, BY JAMES FORD AND DAN MANNARINO, UPDATED AT 11:13AM, JULY 18, 2018

NEW YORK — The killing of Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz sparked widespread community outrage and garnered national attention for its savagery.

Accused of killing the 15-year-old are a dozen suspected members of the Trinitarios gang, which started in the early 1990s in Rikers Island with the intent of protecting Dominican inmates.

From inside Rikers to the streets, the Trinitarios are well-connected and it’s been estimated more than 1,000 members are operating in New York City and they’ve spread to other states.

In the video above, Elias Husamudeen, head of the correction officers’ union, and Manuel Gomez, with Black Ops Investigators, explain how the gang formed, how it operates and what impact the Trinitarios have on New York City and beyond.

I don't know if it was televised but the Yankees honored a 15 year old young man that was murdered in the Bronx. He was also honored at CC celebrity Softball game at the stadium on June 28th, a few days after the murder. He was know as Junior. He was a huge Yankee fan and wanted to be a cop. Tonight the Yankees had the NYPD jacket he wore framed and signed and Judge...Juniors favorite player gave it to his parents. On the night of Wednesday, June 20, police say Junior was chased for blocks by a convoy of four vehicles filled with alleged members of the Trinitarios gang. Junior sought refuge in the Cruz & Chiky bodega at East 183rd Street and Bathgate Avenue, which is close to his home.

Surveillance captured a group of suspects storming into the bodega, finding Junior behind the counter, punching him and dragging him outside. Additional surveillance shows young men setting upon him with knives and a machete.

The bodega surveillance also showed Junior, mortally wounded, stumbling back inside asking for help, only to be directed to a hospital up the road. He bled to death on the sidewalk outside St. Barnabas Hospital. The teen never made it to the emergency room.

After the teenager's murder, enraged residents of the Belmont community demanded that the bodega remain closed, blaming the owner for not doing more to protect Junior and save his life. The owner later gave a tearful news conference, claiming that he called 911 and had tried to protect Junior from the attackers.

The new owners were spotted at the bodega Wednesday checking out the inside.

Man arrested near ‘Junior’ bodega, after grieving mom’s supporters accuse him of scam
POSTED 11:50 PM, AUGUST 8, 2018, BY MARY MURPHY, UPDATED AT 11:58PM, AUGUST 8, 2018

THE BRONX — The NYPD told PIX11 late Wednesday night that a man named Kenny Young was arrested on Bathgate Avenue — right near the bodega where Lesandro “Junior” Guzman Feliz was killed. He was accused of disorderly conduct, after getting into an argument with supporters of the murdered teen’s mother.

Junior’s mother and people on the scene said Kenny Young was the same man who identified himself as Brother Khalil Abdul Muhammad on Monday evening, when he stepped into a “live” interview the Mary Murphy Files was doing for PIX11 Facebook with the late teen’s Mom.

Leandra Feliz challenged Muhammad during the “live” chat about the Justice for Junior’s Foundation he had started. She said it was without her consent.

On Monday night, the man was dressed in a crisp suit and tie.

On Wednesday, the person identified as Kenny Young was wearing a track suit and baseball cap when he was taken into custody, the arrest captured on cell phone footage.

A source told PIX11 that representatives from the Nation of Islam showed up at the 48th Precinct, where Kenny Young was booked. Young was issued a criminal court summons and then released.

PIX11 tried to reach the contact number Brother Khalil Muhammad listed with the AP Daybook on Monday, when he notified the press he would be making a statement about his foundation, which had been called into question by PIX11’s Jay Dow.

Tonight, the contact number just rang and rang, with no voicemail activated.

Wednesday night, Junior’s mother spoke to PIX11 and said community members contacted her and told her about the arrest, just a block from her home.

Manuel Rivera, 18, was in the Robert N. Davoren Center when he was attacked around 10:05 a.m., officials said. The person who attacked him will be re-arrested and charged for the slashing.

“We are moving aggressively to stop gang activity, and the upcoming installation of high-tech body scanners will help catch the kind of weapon that inmates often use in attacks like this,” Department of Correction Deputy Commissioner for Public Information Peter Thorne said. “There were no faulty cell doors involved in this incident.”

Rivera is one of the alleged Trinitarios members accused of slaying Lesandro “Junior” Guzman-Feliz, 15, on June 20.

All 14 defendants are being held at various DOC facilities until trial.

Rivera is scheduled to be back in court on Dec. 21. He’s charged with murder, manslaughter, gang assault and assault with intent to cause injury with a weapon.
