I dig that analogy DJ. I'm just curious... do men not talk about relationships in general at the barbershop? Do people not share their stories? Do people not give their opinions? Please enlighten me, as I haven't had need for a tight fade recently
It's understandable that you would not want people to associate weaknesses with your persona. That is human.
I think it's also great that instead of saying that you have no weaknesses, you said that you prefer to hide them. That's a very valid feeling to have, especially in an environment when you might be unsure of when it will turn hostile.
The anonymous function that many are proposing would be paramount for people who would feel vulnerable sharing the truth about their issues and having the stigma of being weak or unsure attached to them. Pride always comes before the fall though...
If you think that you have nothing to gain from your fellow members in terms of learning from their insight knowledge and experience, you are really saying you have nothing to give.
In the end, we have to ask ourselves, if we really thought BGOL was ONLY full of know-nothing savages, what would that belief say about us?
You & I might not agree on certain points, DJ, but I do believe your opinion is valid on any forum- old or new
