im tearing as i run this list down man!
i loved his funkier stuff but for me it was the softer psychedelic-pseudo -spiritual and some of that strange moorish middle-east musical scale type runs he'd do on stuff like theCross that really endeared me to him, he was definitely an elevated spirit being, he was constantly pullin this vibrational stuff from a next realm ..
s
that really endeared me to him
Not from what I remember. What? Shit was critically acclaimed as soon as it came out.
That was intentional. The distortion was supposed to be his alter-ego, Camille (also on "Shockadelica", "Scarlet Pussy", "You Got The Look" & "Housequake"). But "If I Was Your Girlfriend" is fire, no doubt!
By the way, Around The World In A Day should be getting more love up here than it currently gets. The songwriting is amazing & I'd put "The Ladder" up against any Prince song.
Sign of the times is/was special. The gold medal
Peace,
Are you joking?
Absolutely underrated.
It is. "Sexy MF", "Sweet Baby", "3 Chains O Gold", "Damn U", "Love The 9's",etc
Its easily the best NPG era Prince album. I'm still tryna figure out why people are so high on the Sign O The Times album![]()

It is. His best though? Stop it. You're just trying to be unique. Nobody in his right mind thinks that.
That's dope to see you choose that. As it proves princes 'newer' stuff is as much appreciated as his classics.Musicology was my personal favorite.
THISMan this album is Prince's masterpiece:

"The Cross"
"It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night"
"Adore"
I chose Dirty Mind out of nostalgia. That was the rawest shit he ever put out. Even more raw than the original black album.
yeah, he got his funk doctorate with the BA, but I love to listen to the simple, multitrack, live instrument recordings of DM.No doubt Dirty Mind was Raw...but in terms of unabashed funk, The Black Album has no equal.
Lovesexy.

i could never take the place of your man, slow love, u got the look. my favorite prince cd.Peace,
Sign O The Times is a magnificent album. 16 great songs. Rich. Comprehensive. Runs the full gamet of musical influences. Showcases his genius better than any record. In addition to the linchpin songs that you and Kwame mentioned, it also has other gems like Strange Relationship, Starfish and Coffee, Housequake, Forever In My Life, etc. It's a work of staggering brilliance.
batman is my favorite though...
Almost a year after his death I've been replaying more songs from this album than any other.Prince ( Self Titled)

I wanna be your lover
Why you wanna treat me so bad
With you
I feel for you
When We're Dancing Close and Slow
Sexy Dancer
It's gonna be lonely
Still Waiting
Bambi ( was similar to Darling Nikki )
Almost a year after his death I've been replaying more songs from this album than any other.
If God one day stroke me blind
Your beauty I'd still see
Love is to weak to define
Just what you mean to me
