The 4 Big Money Certifications No One Is Talking About

Launched in mid-2013, Amazon Web Service certifications have been new to the cloud training arena, but their average salaries have been on the rise, outshining many other common certifications such as CISSP, PMP, and CISA. Learn a bit more about these four high paying certs and see if adding one to your repertoire can add a couple commas to your salary.

AWS Certified Developer - Associate
Average Salary - $137,825

Prepare to get poached if you have this certification. With organizations in a rush to bring their development and content delivery to the cloud, they can't hire talent fast enough. Getting your certified developer cert means you've got the power to handle Amazon Simple Storage Service, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon Simple Queue Service, Amazon Simple Notification Service, Amazon Simple Workflow Service, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, and AWS CloudFormation stacks. Phew.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional
Average Salary - $117,434

Companies that are looking to dip their toes into cloud computing are searching for developers with their Solutions Architect Professional certification. Abilities to evaluate cloud application requirements and make architectural recommendations for implementation, deployment, and provisioning applications on AWS make these folks worth their weight in gold.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate
Average Salary - $114,935

Before anyone can even start bringing their code to the cloud, there has to be an architect that blueprints the design. Having loads of on-premise hardware is usually the bottleneck from lifting and shifting into the cloud, and a Certified Solutions Architect undoubtedly has the hands-on experience designing available, cost efficient, fault tolerant, and scalable distributed systems on AWS, complete with hybrid models as well.

AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate
Average Salary - $108,046

Coming at the bottom of this short list is the SysOps Admin Certification. This is comparable to the entry level Amazon certification, yet is still banking with the six-figure average salary. With no prerequisites, an 80 minute test, free exam guides, and a $150 test price tag, learning about deploying web services for cloud storage, computing, and content delivery can be a pretty valuable investment.

Bruh, I'm ON that shit. I don't know how they got the Developer certificate at that salary though as 50% of the test material matches the Solution Architect. Plus add to the fact the Developer cert doesn't even require knowing programming. I got the SA/Developer...I'll eventually get the Sys ops

Accenture and Amazon Web Services Create New Business Group to Help Enterprises Migrate to and Run Their Business in the AWS Cloud

Accenture AWS Business Group will deliver application migration, development and management services and solutions

LAS VEGAS; Oct. 7, 2015 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) and Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS), an Amazon company (NASDAQ: AMZN), today announced the formation of a business group to help clients more quickly move their business to the cloud. The Accenture AWS Business Group brings together dedicated professionals from each company with expertise in cloud solutions architecture and development, marketing, sales, and business development. The business group will offer integrated consulting and technology solutions designed to help enterprise clients take greater advantage of the flexibility and economics of an “as-a-service” operating model where IT and business services are delivered on-demand, via the AWS Cloud.

Large enterprises are under pressure to innovate faster than ever, drive down costs, and deliver increased value to their organizations through more responsive and flexible IT. The Accenture AWS Business Group was established to help organizations evolve long-established internal processes, reorganize internal IT teams, re-tool legacy solutions, and effectively extract value from the data their businesses are collecting. The business group will develop and deliver a suite of services and solutions that unify business process re-engineering, application migration services, architecture design and application development for the AWS Cloud so enterprise clients can accelerate innovation, enter new markets, and ultimately achieve improved business results.

Accenture and AWS plan to invest significant resources over multiple years in the development of new services and technology solutions including application migration and development, cloud-based enterprise applications, and analytics and Big Data solutions. The companies are committed to train an additional 1,000 Accenture professionals and certify 500 Accenture professionals on the AWS Cloud in the first year, and support go-to-market activities. Employees dedicated to the Accenture AWS Business Group will be equipped with the latest AWS technologies, best-in-class methodologies, highly automated tools for application migration, and software-as-a-service applications for big data management and analytics.

Omar Abbosh, Chief Strategy Officer, Accenture and Adam Selipsky, Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Support, Amazon Web Services announcing the formation of the Accenture AWS Business Group, a business group to help clients more quickly move their business to the cloud.

“Accenture is already a market leader in cloud and the formation of the Accenture AWS Business Group is a key part of our Accenture Cloud First agenda. Cloud is increasingly becoming a starting point with our clients for their enterprise solutions,” said Omar Abbosh, Chief Strategy Officer, Accenture. “Whether our clients need to innovate faster, create new services, or maximize value from their investments, the Accenture AWS Business Group will help them get there faster, with lower risk and with solutions optimized for AWS.”

“We are working with more organizations than ever before who have made the decision to transform their business by moving to the AWS Cloud,” said Adam Selipsky, Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Support, Amazon Web Services. “The Accenture AWS Business Group has been created to empower these organizations to rapidly achieve the agility benefits of moving to AWS so they can eliminate the undifferentiated heavy lifting of managing their IT infrastructure and instead focus on adopting new IT operating models, addressing new market opportunities, and growing their business, at the same time they reduce their overall IT costs.”

Initially, the Accenture AWS Business Group will focus on two main business areas, with plans to introduce additional solutions in the future:
  • Transformation Services Optimized for AWS: The business group will provide services to clients to move their existing applications to and develop new applications on AWS quickly, economically, and securely. The services include cloud strategy, organizational and architecture design, application migration, refactoring, and new application development services. A dedicated AWS application development and migration ‘factory’ will automate processes to help businesses run more efficiently.
  • Analytics and Big Data Services, powered by AWS: Enterprise clients, especially those in regulated industries such as healthcare and financial services, are increasingly looking for more effective analytics-driven solutions. The Accenture Insights Platform will be expanded to integrate AWS data and analytics capabilities. This will allow customers with compliance and regulatory requirements to better manage the end-to-end data lifecycle from data migration, curation, normalization, and analytics.
The business group will also explore the creation of new services in high growth areas such as Internet of Things (IoT) and Security on the AWS Cloud.

The formation of the Accenture AWS Business Group represents a continued expansion of the relationship between Accenture and AWS, who have been working together to support their clients in their move to the cloud for nearly 10 years. In 2014, the two companies collaborated on end-to-end cloud migration and management services designed to help enterprise clients move from cloud pilots to enterprise-wide deployments in the AWS Cloud. Notable clients who have successfully migrated to AWS leveraging these services include global broadcasting and content company Discovery Networks International and Japanese public WiFi service provider Wire and Wireless Co.

If I know nothing about being a developer would it be pointless for me to attempt these certs? This sounds technical and sounds like its for ppl with a background in IT. I am in Project Management and not usually involved in technical aspects of IT. How would I go about this? would I have to go back to school for computer science?

Understanding of the technology would help.....

and don't expect those salaries with no experience.

download the CBT's and you will be able to tell if you understand them....or if they are going into something you don't understand and then get CBT's that cover those areas

Udemy - Hosting Django: Amazon Web Services (AWS) Fundamentals
MP4 | Video: 1280x720 | 59 kbps | 44 KHz | Duration: 6 Hours | 1.87 GB

A beginner SysAdmin course f Django web developers. Learn to launch, optimize & scale your app in Amazon Web Services.
Setting up servers f your business startup can be a tedious and expensive process, particularly when you're just starting out switching to a new platfm. Amazon Web Services is incredible but you can still feel like you're becoming an accidental System Administrat trying to set everything up crectly. However, with the right instructions, you can get up and running in a few hours--saving you time, money, and a headache.
This course will walk you through Amazon's Web Services, with a focus on setting up Django and leveraging their Free Tier to keep your project free (f low-bandwidth uses f one year). We'll start with the very basics of launching and configuring Django on EC2, discussing different ways to connect to your system while keeping it secure, we'll progress to fine tuning your system with fast and efficient content delivery, and finally we'll dive into all the ways that you can scale your system on this incredibly elastic platfm.
A quick note: Amazon Web Services is used by some of the largest websites on the internet, including Netflix and Yelp, as it's extremely scalable, but, it's also a favite of many entrepreneurs and VC's who know to take advantage of their Free Tier. It's just a great deal.
What this course is:
An easy-to-understand walkthrough on how to host Django using Amazon Web Services which covers: launching a Django-ready server in minutes optionally launching a "plain" Ubuntu server and configuring Django + dependencies manually (see below f server details), setting up and enhancing security, using FTP & SSH to transfer over project files (a sample project is included) securely, serving static (CSS/JS/Image) files from a Django server and leveraging Cloud Stage (S3 and CloudFront CDN) to make your site faster, setting your project up f production, upgrading your instance f immediate perfmance increases, adding me instances and load balancing them, separating and vertically scaling your database, automatic scaling with cloud moniting, deploying automatically with Beanstalk, and me. If you're not happy after taking the course, you will absolutely get your money back.
(Server Configuration Details: Ubuntu Linux 14.04 with Apache, Mod_WSGI, MySQL & Django -- but you can easily switch to Nginx/PostgreSQL, if preferred)
What this course is not:
Amazon has a very wide range (hundreds) of features. If you are looking f help on a particular AWS feature, view the curriculum below to make sure that it's covered. We cover many features but cannot claim to cover everything.

Every single question that is raised in the discussion panel is responded to, but this may not be the best resource to diagnose your server issues. Keep in mind that Amazon offers all kinds of suppt that is available 24x7.
I've enjoyed wking with Django and AWS these last couple years -- it's what I use f my business -- and I would now like to help me people take advantage of this great offer and incredibly scalable stack.
If you want to save yourself some time, money, and, possibly a headache, use this guide to speed up the process of understanding this powerful, scalable platfm - remember, Amazon hosts everyone - from the busiest sites on the net, to startups on the Free Tier.
