NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Senator Bernie Sanders has become the "meme attraction" with the photo of his Inauguration Day pose going viral.

Now a New York University graduate student is capitalizing on that photo's attention.

Nick Sawhney created a "Bernie Sits Anywhere" website that taps into Google Maps.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders drew fashion praise on social media for his cozy, comfortable inauguration wear.

The concept is simple, but the possibilities are endless.

You just click on the website, type in an address or location, and the now iconic picture of Senator Sanders bundled up on Inauguration Day appears there.

Whether it's Times Square, the George Washington Bridge or the Sydney Opera House, there's no shortage to the places Bernie can go.

The senator even dropped in on Lee Goldberg's AccuWeather forecast Friday night.

A bitter cold forecast didn't stop a bundled up Bernie Sanders from dropping in on Lee Goldberg's AccuWeather update.

"I thought it would be funny to try to like put him in front of a friend's house or something," Sawhney said. "And so I just made a little terminal app on my computer, where I just run it and type in an address, and it saved the image for me. Just like to have a fun little programming project that wouldn't take that long."

He says he put in online so that his friends could share it easily, and put it on Twitter thinking that a few of his friends and followers would like it.
Sawhney's tweet about the website went out on Wednesday night.

"A few verified people with a bunch of followers, and it just happened to hit the right buttons with enough people at that point that it got retweeted and then the inflection point between, it just kind of slowly grew," Sawhney said. "Then I was like oh, this might be a bit more popular than my normal dumb tweets -- to going viral that was like, that was instant basically it was like a notification and notification and then suddenly my phone just starts blowing up."

It now has more than 245,000 likes. So what's next for Sawhney?

"I'm still just trying to keep this site running. I haven't put a lot of thought into what's going forward, my semester starts next week so like going forward I will be doing homework," he said.

Sanders breaks silence after mittens ‘Bern’ up the internet

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders admitted on Sunday that he’s having “fun” with the countless memes of him sporting simple, hand-knit mittens to the inauguration.
“Not only are we having fun but what we are doing here in Vermont is we’re going to be selling around the country sweatshirts and t-shirts,” Sanders told CNN’s Dana Bash on “State of the Union.”
“And with all the money that we’re going to be raising, which I expected is going to be a couple of million dollars, will be going to programs like Meals on Wheels and Feed [for] low-income seniors.”
Sander’s campaign store already launched a black crewneck featuring the viral snapshot — which promised to give 100% of the proceeds to Meals on Wheels in Sanders’ home state.
The campaign site said the sweatshirt has already sold out “due to overwhelming demand for this item.”
“It turns out to be a good thing not only a fun thing,” Sanders said of becoming an internet sensation.

The Berrr It's Cold Outside cookie set from Little Chunk of Goodness

NORTH CANTON Local baker Christy Williams was drinking a glass of wine and giggling about Bernie Sanders inauguration memes when inspiration struck.
She wanted to put his iconic mittens and cross-legged pose on her business website, littlechunkofgoodness.com. "And then I was like, 'Oh, I should make him a cookie,'" Williams said.
Her friend responded enthusiastically to a photo of the finished project and encouraged Williams to create the "Berrr It's Cold Outside" gift set.
"It was just supposed to be kind of a joke," she said, but it's become a "happy accident."
Williams posted the three cookies — one of Sanders and two of his matching mittens — to the Little Chunk of Goodness Facebook page Friday morning. Since then, the post has reached more than 123,780 people and prompted 35 to 40 cookie set orders.

Previously, Williams' "Tiger King" cookies were her most "viral" social media post and reached about 45,000 people total. "I reached that within eight hours with the Bernie Sanders cookies," she said.
The $15 sugar cookie with royal icing sets still are available, but there's a seven-day period before pickup so orders can be made fresh. As a home baker, Williams said, that policy has kept the influx of orders manageable.

"It's been unbelievable," she said. "I had no idea this was going to happen at all."
Williams said she is thankful for new customers but really appreciates the early support from North Canton area residents since she started Little Chunk of Goodness in late 2018.
"It's meant a lot, and it's kept me going," she said.
