Tesla Model 3 Revealed

I've been waiting for this one, just came into some dough so I may splurge.

At first glance, I didn't like the back of it. But the more angles I see, the better it looks. What's Teslas reliability look like?

Sometimes I wonder how much energy it takes to be this lazy. This shit has to be a resource hog. How difficult is it to open another tab, and type in "tesla reliability"?

Gas is so cheap right now
The question I have is, how much money are you spending towards your electric bill to charge it every week ???
Where are the numbers on that
If it costs just as much (if not more than a tank of gas), to charge it up every week...then how much are you really saving ???

:hmm::hmm::hmm:
it took more to type all that out than it did to google it b

just sayin

Assume a homeowner's marginal cost of electricity is $0.10 / kwh, it's charger is 95% efficient, and knowing that the Tesla S batteries hold 60 or 85 kwh https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El... then each full charge would cost $6.30 to $8.91 .

And how much do I pay for gas? What's the difference?

At some point you're going to have to realize they're doing this to increase their post count.

APPLE watching this shit and daydreaming about the billions it will make on pre-orders alone of the 1st AppleCar
That shit literally gonna look like this and the stans will be wraped around the corner for miles long.

Gas won't stay cheap. Just until the Saudis destroy the US fracking industry. Then they will raise prices.

And God forbid you do something that might be good for the environment...

The Saudis didn't destroy the fracking industry. Iranian oil destroyed the market that popped up when their world was taken away. The only reason why there was a fracking market to begin with was the removal of Iranian oil. Now that they're back, the frackers can't compete.

:hmm::hmm::hmm:
Gas is only this cheap right now because of OPEC's decision to pump a certain amount of oil. Simply lessening the amount pumped daily would cause a dearth, resulting in a price increase. OPEC has intentionally lowered the worldwide price of oil to fuck with the economies of Russia and Venezuela.

Gas isn't going to stay cheap forever. If the fossil fuel industry didn't think Tesla to be a problem, the Koch brothers and their peers would not be investing millions of dollars to try to kill the electric car again, through legislation and other means.

LOL @ haters trying desperately to grasp at some perceived flaw to shit on. "YUCK! I wouldn't be caught dead in a car that color of red! I'm keeping my bus pass!" :curse:
They are extremely expensive to repair. A fender binder can cost more than 10 grand

Lol... not hardly. .. if ev's become popular and profitable... guess what will happen.

bro there is no comparison...

tesla is cheaper, looks better, better performance, most likely safer, has the national charger network, more tech advanced...

auto industry - audi, bmw, lexus, acura, infiniti benz & anybody trying to eat in the $30 - $50k range basically
big oil
other ev's
Naw this car is very expensive for the 30k range because of maintenance or accidents. Also the performance is no where near a BMW, Lexus, or Benz.

These cars don't have the speed and power of a gas engine

Honestly , please get me a deep sounding v8 compared to these toys.
I tried to like it but I can't.

What a clueless response.

If that's your opinion fine. If not show me a car messing with a model s in ludicrous mode for that price. Didn't think so. You worried about a v8 when tesla is pushing it's cars into super car territory..

I drove one for awhile. Was not mind as it was to pricey for me but had it a month or so.

While the Tesla is quick it has no power. I better way to say it is the Tesla is quick but not fast. You get a quick launch and after that the power is pretty much gone.

For sports enthusiasts that can be problematic. At 40 mph the Tesla can't accelerate like a BMW, Charger hellcat or other sports sadans. So people who want a sports car will probably opt for a gas model. A quick start is cool but unless your are drag racing it is not practical plus you really do a number on your battery.

They are most likely gonna make sure the performance version smokes the M3 because Elon Musk is an asshole like that...

It already does...

Electric cars can generate 100% of their torque immediately. Whereas, an internal combustion motor needs to build that torque through the rev range. So, yes...the high performance Model 3 will beat an M3 off the line but as speeds increase....the M3 will reel it in and pass it by.

Start that same race from around 60 - 70 mph and it's curtains for the Tesla.

Yeah.. I'm hearing it's going to be nearly 5B in pre-sales by the end of the night :eek2:
You got jokes

What maintenance expenses are you talking about? Aside from the obvious no need to buy gas ever, EV cars are attractive because of hardly any needed maintenace. If I'm not mistaken, Tesla has a 7 year warrany on their battery. The only other maintenance I can think of is replacing tires. Their was another thread, where a lady scuffed her rims and Tesla took care of that.

You're right, Hillary Clinton (moving goal posts). Most races START at 60-70 mph because we all want to go to jail...

I drive a 2010 Chevy Malibu for my around the town work vehicle
It has a 16 gal gas tank, and I get about 25 miles per gallon, and can go 400+ on a full tank
Newer cars will getter better gas mileage (30+ mpg)
The price & size of the Tesla seems to be aimed at the BMW 3 series market
So since the Tesla 3 is rated at 215 per full charge, thats the equivalent of a half tank of gas
Half a tank of gas for a 3 series bmw, will probably run you about $12, and get you about 200+ miles
Sooo not saving a whole lot, but yea I get the point

By the way, according to Caranddriver.com, with both cars in top gear, the Tesla does 30-50 in 1.3 seconds and 50-70 in 1.8 seconds. The M6 took 5.6 and 7.3 seconds...

The standing quarter mile in 11.1 seconds at 121 mph, the M6 12.4 at 124 mph.

I see yours too though.

But that's the tax credit, the environmental angle, and the coolness factor. Together those give it a powerful edge.
