The less-traveled path Terron Beckham is trying to take toward an NFL roster spot got a little clearer Thursday.

And in impressive fashion.

The cousin of New York Giants star Odell Beckham, Jr.,didn't play college football. He followed his high school football career with one in personal training, instead. Without any truly useful film to evaluate, whatever scouting attention he receives will necessarily be based heavily on athleticism.

He put on a clinic in that regard Thursday in front of scouts from a few NFL teams at TEST Sports Clubs in New Jersey, according to USA TODAY. The Raiders, Giants and Jetswere present for the event, per the report.

He reportedly ran an unofficial 4.47-second 40-yard dash, bench-pressed 225 pounds 36 times, with highly explosive testing of 44.5 inches in the vertical, and a broad jump of 11 feet. He put up two more reps on the bench than offensive lineman Christian Westerman of Arizona State did to lead all players at the NFL Scouting Combine in February. His vertical leap would have been the best mark of any player at the combine by a margin of three inches.

Good shit. Giants can use him at LB. I hope no one dreams of putting him on offense or DB. I'll put him on the field on 3rd down and tell him to go get the QB. Other than that, im not sure if he's used to schemes in the NFL or in football. You can workout all you want but if you don't understand the scheme, you're gonna be getting beat on defense on almost every play. You can be as fast as you want, but defense is a totally different game....

I read that he was going to try to play rb.

I'm STILL reading trying to find where it says his POSITION, RED FLAG. Anyway, old heads remember Tony Mandarich.....
Weights don't hit back.....

I've never head of him, where does he go to school at and what position did he play this last year?

Football is functional strength, footwork, balance, instincts and depending on the position learning to use hands also.

Plus game shape is way different than being in shape.

Dude aint got no gametape, no history of will he be durable.

An Nfl team would be a damn fool to waste a pick on him. His best bet would be to go the free agent route.

Workout warriors don't always translate to pro players.

The Gholston kid the Jets took couple years ago was nasty with the workouts, huge bust.

I'd take him with a late 2nd day pick though.

late 2nd day? you mean you'd take this 23 year old who never college or semi pro football in the 3rd round?
This dude is a 7th rd pick or UDFA at best

You're right fam, I keep forgetting it's three days now. Meant to say a late pick on the last day.

ok, in that case I agree with you. Wish this dude all the best..
If a career in football doesn't work out he can get try to get hired by some agents to be a personal trainer for their clients that are heading to the combine, sell his "pre -combine" strength and conditioning routine.

7th rd, and I bet he makes a roster. that is too much talent to work at walmart. Damn what is in the Beckham blood line, straight mutants
