A sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
BY ADAM BANKHURST The sixth Terminator film, set to release at the end of 2019, is officially titled Terminator: Dark Fate.

IGN can confirm the official title for the new movie is Terminator: Dark Fate. James Cameron revealed Dark Fate was the movie's working title in an interview with Yahoo.

Terminator: Dark Fate will be a sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, with Cameron serving as executive producer and Tim Miller directing the film. It will star Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Natalia Reyes, Gabriel Luna, Diego Boneta, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

James Cameron directed the first two Terminator films. Dark Fate will mark the first Terminator film he's produced since 1991's Terminator 2.

With this being a sequel to Judgment Day, it means that Rise of the Machines, Salvation, and Genisys will all seemingly be erased from the timeline, paving the way for this new story.

As for Cameron deciding to return to the Terminator franchise, he told Yahoo, "I can’t be involved in this film at all if Arnold [Schwarzenegger] is not in it," and he urged the filmmakers to bring back Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor.

"Fans are going to want to see her again, and they’re going to want to see what time and dealing with these tragic futures has done to her.”

He got his wish, and last year we received our first look at the then untitled Terminator film in a photo revealing Linda Hamilton, Natalia Reyes, and Mackenzie Davis in the upcoming sequel.

Terminator: Dark Fate will be released in theaters on November 1, 2019, and is just one of the many high-profile films arriving this year, including Star Wars: Episode IX, Avengers: Endgame, The Lion King, and so many more.

There's no Dark Fate but what we make for James Cameron's new Terminator movie

Tim Miller’s new Terminator movie—which we’re just going to go ahead and keep thinking of as James Cameron’s new Terminator movie (sorry, Tim), since it’s his first trip back to the franchise since striking cybernetic gold with T2: Judgment Day—is already building up a steady buzz of excitement for itself. There’s Cameron’s involvement, obviously, and Deadpool director Miller getting to play around in one of sci-fi’s biggest, most poorly maintained playgrounds. And honestly, we’re mostly just excited to see Linda Hamilton running around kneecapping people again. Still, we now have another potential highlight for the November release: The ability to talk about it without having to wrap our mouths around nonsense words like “Genisys”, for once.

This is per Yahoo, which reports that Cameron has let slip the working title for the sixth film in his and Gale Ann Hurd’s sprawling sci-fi franchise: Dark Fate, a reference to the series’ obsession with dystopia, apocalypse, and destiny, and also, presumably, to a sort of all-purpose general spookiness. (It does come out the day after Halloween, after all.) Now, this is just a working title, but still, the lack of extraneous “y”s at play here really does our hyarts some gyod.

Cameron—taking time out of his busy schedule of idly wishing new Avatar movies into the world—also made a lot of noise about “passing the baton,” noting that both Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger are both participating, to some extent, in order to get some new young people to take this damn franchise off their hands once and for all.

At least they're erasing Genisys... That shit was beyond trash...

(how are they gonna sell the box set now...?)
Have "The Terminator Trilogy" (Terminator, 2 ans Dark Fate) and then "The Forgotten Terminator Trillogy" with the other three.....?

Fool me once (Rise of The Machines), shame on you.
Fool me three times (Salvation, Genysis, and now Dark Fate), shame on me... :smh:
Two great movies in a six movie franchise is NOT a good ratio... :hmm:

They're looking very much like the DCEU. Only 2 movies in six were particularly well received:
Man of Steel. (Mixed but mostly positive reviews).
Batman v Superman.
Suicide Squad.
Justice League.
Wonder Woman.
Aquaman.
:dunno:

No her name is Mackenzie Davis, she's been in Black Mirror, Blade Runner 2049, Tully and a whole lot of indy shit I'm not going to watch....

A good episode of black mirror

Not really much to work with on the net, she's Canadian if that's worth anything

Damn.
Y'know, I'd never thought of it that way.
Now that you mentioned it, pretty much all Terminator related films NOT directed by Cameron have (at best) been referred to as glorified "fan films". Or have (at worse) outright sucked...
:puzzled:

Official trailer

I'm confused to how this will take place after T2: Judgement Day but the main terminator reminds me of what I saw in Genisys. And what happened to John Connor.
