New York, Madison Square Garden - A third fight between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito that would decide who is the better fight between the two, said Margarito's co-manager Francisco Espinoza. In July 2008, Margarito stopped Cotto in eleven rounds to capture the WBO welterweight crown at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Cotto got revenge on Saturday night when he stopped Margarito in the tenth round to retain his WBA 154-pound title at New York's Madison Square Garden.

"Why not," Espinoza questioned. "But I don't think it will happen because [Cotto] won't be willing to leave his [comfort zone]. Let's see if he has [the guts]. I think it's a good idea to do it in Mexico City. I told them it would be the same fight [as the first]. Cotto did not want to stop running. After taking a few hard punches, you saw Cotto's condition. It was a matter of a round or two [before Margarito was going to end it]."

cotto fought a good fight, but margarito's eye was fucked up from the early rounds. i think margarito could have won. and he was walking thru cotto's best punches and applying crazy pressure on cotto.

Except a lot of fighters fight with one eye. Morales did it against a young tough Maidana... and Moralez old ass sat there slowly tattooing Maidana's face because good fighters know once that shit goes down you have fight your heart out with possibility that it would be stopped at any time. I'm watch the fight tonight, but from what I heard Margarito was waiting for Cotto to stop winning the fight by boxing... so that Margarito could brawl. That shit is on him. He knew the condition his eye was in going into the fight.

Well... I just watched it and Margy had about 2 rounds you could give to him, but Cotto was tearing him up. From go Margs wasn't even trying to protect his eye so it's no surprise it ended the way it did. Cotto was winning exchanges and landing the big shots in dame near every round. Yes, Cotto's face looked busted, but he never looked in trouble. End of the day, he gave way more than he took and he was able to handle Margarito's slow punches.

He was getting touched way too much for the type of guy he was facing which is why him fighting Floyd is a dumb idea.
