It's sad when two conscious intellectuals are fighting over the same shit that ignorant niggas die over in the streets. I expected better from both of them. Makes you question both of their motives/agendas.
I'm going to be honest . . .
. . . someone would really have to have been drunk off the Kool-Aid to just be questioning their motives at the dawn of 2018.
So many people are easily blinded by good works/good deeds, They act as if humans are either all black or all white. If you're doing good work, that means your intentions are pure? No way in HELL an adult can be that naive.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I really believe this shit just comes down to people being taken in by certain personalities to the point they subconsciously downplay the negatives and perhaps even overrate the positive things they do.
I consider myself to be an objective individual, and I can see how both of these guys have done things that can definitely be perceived as positive, but have very questionable motives. It is not about people being perfect, but just the sum total of all the things they've said and done over the years that colors your perception of them. Someone told me I was trippin' for calling Umar an egomaniac. Really? Well, if Umar ain't an egomaniac, then how in the FUCK do you define egomania? I ask that, then they'll go find some super, over-the-top example, as if any trait or quality doesn't exist in degrees. Is Lebron James no tall because he is much shorter than Yao Ming?
I fucks with Umar far more than Tariq - actually, I never took to Tariq at all - but I feel Tariq's brand is more sustainable long-term. He's going to say wild shit, but I feel like he knows how to pull it back right before he tips completely over the edge. I think Tariq is purely or mostly about the bread, and that his ego is tamable enough to not fuck that up.
I think Umar craves money, but I think he craves worship even more. '
Prince of Pan Afrikanism';
King Kong of Consciousness; Descendant of Frederick Douglas. . .
. . .Tariq's ego pales in comparison.
Now, the flip side of all of that is this: I do believe takes a massive ego to achieve or even pursue massive success. Yeah. In general, the people who strive to do great things, can only pursue those things because they believe themselves capable or worthy. Those the average person would never even attempt to CONSIDER doing, because they just don't see it within the realm of their capabilities.
That being said, if there isn't any balance within that massive ego, then the very ego that build your empire, will be the same one that brings it crashing down.
