T-will traded

LOL@ Denver trying to make demands with no leverage

Fuck them!!!

Take the package Dallas is offering whatever that may be!

Im tired of Cuban getting shitted on in the midst of all this we never can come up with a star!!!:angry::angry:

eddie jones >>>>>>
Katts are sleeping. Eddie Jones was no slouch

Yep Martin is off the books and the Nuggets won't be bringing him back so if Martin should sign with NY and if he can stay healthy look out.
Been a K-Mart fan since he was damn near ripping rims down in NJ

You cats are funny . On one hand people keep bringing up Amare's knee issues (WHICH HAPPENED DURING THE 05-06 SEASON), and yet want to bring in Kenyon Martin???

When healthy Kenyon Martin is that enforcer every team needs to put that intimidation in opponents. The problem for him is staying healthy hence why I said if you do pick him up, give him a low salary so your books aren't hit hard.

Denver will never deal Melo to a West team and i'm sure Melo wants to get away from Kobe and Lakers(given their past history:cool:) so aint no way. Sorry Triple D.

Fuck Kobe and the Lakers you team Melo with Dirk and we cant attack the Lakers head on :hmm:

Bulls should be tearing the Nuggets phone off trying to get Melo. Deng some picks and maybe Taj Gibson or Johnson... Melo can talk that shit but he'd be a fool to turn down a team with a 21 year old superstar at the point so he doesnt have to handle the ball much, and 2 VERY GOOD Big men so he doesn't have to play post D on bigger players OR be depended on to rebound so he can just focus on scoring.. but oh well..

denver is about to rebuild they are not taking back old players or bad contracts.

So Chi is out of it. Unless they are trading Noah which they already said no to.

This is just between the Knicks and Nets.

unless the clippers change their mind on Blake :lol::lol::lol:

i hear what your saying, but i don't want to knicks to fall back into giving out bad contracts again.

You talk as though no one else matters, that will not always be the case. New generation and they could care less about who the league pushes. Since you want to pull stankees and deadsox then as far the NFL goes then only Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers matters:lol:. See how that got flipped again. New York is not a mecca for football U madd:lol:.

Why are you bringing up the NFL? This conversation is about the NBA.

Also, other teams DO matter - but the fact is if the major market teams - LAKERS, CELTICS and KNICKS are competitive then the overall health of the NBA is much better.

The argument stemmed from Shaddy talking that stupid shit he always talks - so I wanted to make sure he knows that the Bulls aren't one of those teams - since he wanted to act like the Knicks don't matter.

You see, it's not really about disrespecting other teams and fanbases - because the NBA wants it so anyone can win - otherwise it would make no sense for fans to invest their time and money - but the NBA definitely wants LA, Boston, and NY to have competitive teams.

Remember, a few years ago David Stern offered his hand in helping the Knicks.

If they aren't including Noah or Rose, the Bulls aren't getting shit.

Bulls are OUT because they don't want to include Noah. I don't blame them for trying to lowball, but they're in a worse position than either NJ or NY.

No I know the deal yall I'm just speaking from the perspective of a Bulls fan... LOL...

I brought up the NFL because people think NY is the center of the sports universe and it is not. Back to the NBA it is a star driven league not a franchise driven one. In five years the Celtics and Lakers will once again be irrelevant, but guess what the NBA will thrive still. No one around the world cares about franchises except for those fans of that franchise. Why can't people see this??? The only reason Boston and LA get shine is because of champion pedigree not because the entire world like them, but that does not matter to the new generation of fans who like superstars.

denver is about to rebuild they are not taking back old players or bad contracts.

Fam, Deng will make more this season than Danny Granger, Caron Butler, Josh Smith, Ray Allen, everyone on the Bobcats including Gerald Wallace and Stephen Jackson, everyone on the Warriors except Monta Ellis who makes $300,000 more, Trevor Ariza, and those are only swing guys I'm comparing.

:smh: Bulls are stuck with that contract...

football is different from the other two sports. If basketball had only 17 weeks it would be the same as the nfl.

The NFL is a completely different beast from all other sports. It's way beyond all other sports as far as marketing and team history.

I find it funny that you highlighted the comment that "the lakers and the Celtics are the NBA" then completely went on a tangent shitting on NY.

All Beeiii said was that having those teams in the playoffs makes every other team money, and that their fanbases are worldwide. Please tell me what's false about that statement? While we're on the topic of worldwide fanbases - the NFL, while immensely popular in the states doesn't have the worldwide popularity of the NBA. There are people halfway around the world who follow the Lakers religiously, the NBA religiously.

Also Beeiii stated that NY is the mecca of basketball and the biggest city. The former you can make an argument for and against, but the latter is indisputable. Proof being that Allan Houston's jersey was a top 10 seller, despite the Knicks not being contenders and AH20 not being a superstar.

He's also right about the Yankees and Redsox.

He never said it was the center of the sports universe. He mentioned two sports in which major markets provide a substantial boost to the overall sport. The only decade in which the Celtics and Lakers were irrelevant were the 90s, and if MJ wasn't as big as he was the NBA would have surely been hurt. But both teams have been active in winning championships in the 60s, 70s, 80s and now 00s. The Knicks have been competitive.

The NBA doesn't want these teams to be the only ones winning, they just want them to be competitive because they'll contribute greatly to the NBA.

I seriously don't get why people argue against it.

When San Antonio was winning titles people didn't care. They were a good team to watch, and a great team overall. The Spurs/Pistons finals was competitive as fuck, but people weren't checking for it. - but look at what happened when Boston and LA met, when both teams started becoming contenders. The NBA doesn't need them to be contenders always, but just to be in the mix.

You arguing against that is arguing against an immutable fact of the NBA.

And like I been saying, more people than just fans of those franchises care about them doing well.

I've seen plenty people, people even on this board here, say "i hate the knicks, but I'd like for them to do well because it's good for the league"

You realize that the NY metro area is 19 million people, with millions more in other states.

You want an area with 19 million people to do well, because even if only half of those are fans, if half of that half (5 mil) start purchasing NBA products again or more it's MORE INCOME.

It's a fact that the better a team does more merchandise for that team is sold.

So even if it was just Knicks fans - what do you think the League would rather have

Memphis Grizzlies doing great while the Knicks suck

or the Knicks doing great while the grizzlies suck?

an area with a metro population of 19 mil (NY) or an area with a metro population of 1.2 mil (Memphis)

Fuck the Nets for real. :smh:

I'm all for Melo walking onto the Knicks this Summer but damn I want to keep Wilson Chandler!! Chandler's qualifying offer is $3MM, and assuming a cap of $58MM, we'd have to either renounce his rights or make some trades to clear space to sign Melo and keep Ill-Will.

Nets looking like some chumps for this especially if they trade for Melo with no guarantee on an extension. They are basically fucking with the man's money. :smh: Dude wants to extend this season with a team he can see himself playing for happily for the next 7 years. Nets don't do their "fans" a service if they make a reckless move like this. Also, I noticed the average age of Knicks players is 24, one of the youngest squads in the league. All Summer those ass-clowns were totting the Nets as having "superior" young talent than the Knicks?? Now they traded away the best of that young talent for a pick they will trade on a gamble??!

Man fuck y'all and fuck the Nets as a staff, NBA team and a muthafucking crew.:angry::angry:

young talent never wins. stop falling in love with it. notice the average age on all the top contenders is old as fuck. and don't get it twisted Melo WILL sign that extension. he's not giving up 30M.

Dude I am not arguing about what the league wants. However the Chicago disrespect is unwarranted. Fact Chicago is more respected as a city internationally over LA and Boston. Fact, Chicago is the mecca in the middle of America. So for you or anyone to say Chicago is not important is baseless. As far as NFL goes I respect what the Giants have accomplished but the top trophies are named Halas and Lombardi.... but please stop this MLB Yankess and Redsox dribble. A competitive Cubs and Dodgers teams will knock them both out the box:yes:.

ok lets say NJ isn't as stupid as the media is making them out to be. Maybe this was done so they could literally run this years draft which I hear is suppose to be really good. Or maybe they use these picks to get a collection of players from around the league.

I really can't see them giving all these picks to Denver to get a rent a player who in all honestly probably won't resign with a team that has been gutted and had a losing streak before they got gutted. If this is true this move is up there with some of the worse of Isiah Thomas Gm moves. Didn't the sports world learn from Cliff Lee when the contract is up Melo is going to go where he wants to go.

Chicago disrespect?

Son, in every thread regarding the knicks Shaddy prances his ass into to shit on the Knicks and NYers, and pump up Chicago.

So I decided to put everything in it's proper perspective.

I wasn't shitting on Chicago as a city. I was stating the fact that the only period where the Bulls mattered was during MJs playing days, more specifically starting in 1990 and lasting to 1998.

That is IT. Shaddy is blowing it out of proportion and acting like Chicago was already an established franchise with a storied history - when in fact their history was that of a team that didn't do anything.

and in this thread I gave that era it's due. But the fact is, the Bulls, whether they're good or not, doesn't have much impact on the league overall. But Boston, LA and NY have a greater impact when they're competitive.

My position has nothing to do with the NFL or even MLB. Beeiii brought up the MLB. I don't know much about baseball to begin to speak on that.

this is the same team that sat and wait for an answer from Lebron. Lebron was not heading to a team that won 12 games.

this year draft will be the worst in 11 years.

We will have a lockout which will keep alot of talent in school. Espn was talking bout that last night.

The Nets figure they are only a few spots our of the playoffs and with Melo they make a run and convince him they will build around him.

no way

See i didn't know about the draft being weak since i don't watch college ball....

yeah man take it from someone who knows. This is a Isiah Move. That means shit can only get worse. Sorry to hear this since I am from BK and you guys will be playing here soon.

Maybe they go and try to get Iggy and Mayo and some other dudes......

the only teams people want to see right now are the eagles(Vick) and the patriots(Brady.)

No one care about the the patriots 10 years ago and when Brady retires they will fall back. The Eagles are important historically but ain't fucking with Bears and Packers overall in terms of favorite franchises. When Vick is done in Philly they will fall back into obscurity but the NFL will forever immortalize the Bears and Green Bay. Besides holler at me when they make a Joe Namath championship trophy:lol:. Yankees and Redsox can be trumped by Dodgers and Cubs. The eastcoast bias that the sports world revolves only around what goes on between Boston to D.C. is really just that a bias.
