Actors do the same thing to singers who get into the acting game.
They usually feel some kind of way about people who have a leg up over them. The business breeds those kinds of feelings due to the demands it puts on the people in it.
Ironically, singers don't usually do that to actors and others who cross occupations.
Comedians can be really insecure and protective about what they do because they want to be taken seriously about their funny.
What happened in this instance is that they had a big celebrity come in and do what they do but they thought they could rib him like he was a noob. They forgot that the stage is his home, too. Dude has spent a couple of decades telling stories through rhymes on stages, so he actually has paid his dues when it comes to stage time.
Its easier for a bus driver to become a truck driver than it is for someone who has never driven to learn to drive and get good enough to get their CDL and become a trucker. They were looking at T.I. like he was a new driver when he was really a bus driver who started trucking.
Godfrey was respectable about the situation and apologized. Its good to see black men hash out their grievances without all of that extra drama.
