Suspect steals cell phone on subway, uploads selfie to Google account: NYPD
PROSPECT PARK SOUTH, Brooklyn — Police are searching for a suspect they say swiped a cell phone from a subway rider and then snapped a selfie of himself on the stolen phone in Brooklyn.
The 36-year-old victim was texting on his Galaxy S3 phone while riding a Q train around 5:45 a.m. Oct. 24., in the area of Prospect Park South.
Police say as the train pulled into the Beverly Road station, the suspect grabbed the phone from the man’s hand and ran off the train.
A photo of the suspect was obtained from the victim’s Google account. Some smart phone users set up their phones to automatically update photos to Google photo libraries.
